Wilson is a 1000 yard WR on a bad team...Horn has been injured more than he plays and he gets more than his share of penalties--to get something you have to give something up--We are about to have to pay Horn a max salary for part time performance--you have to factor his contract status, injury history, and the fact that he has 1 interception in over 1000 snaps, penalties--it is not as incredible as it sounds.  However, I get that the quiet CB is the best CB--and there are games when you don't know Horn is out there.  But if you are looking beyond the actual players and at their entire situation, it makes sense.  Wilson would save you a lot of cap room vs. the Horn contract for a season.  It would allow you to sign a solid DT and maybe another solid CB in free agency.

So if you look at the big picture, you will see that an impulsive reaction is unjustified.  It would be a risky chess move, but one that can be defended or critiqued--by people who have the ability to see the big picture and analyze multiple perspectives.

That's what I am saying. That's a no brainer trade. And I like Horn but Wilson is the better player and likely will have the more impactful career.

To be fair to Horn, I don't think he makes sense if we have Evero long term(doubtful). He is a guy that needs to be shadowing the best WR and attempting to lock him down. Not locked on his side of the field getting whatever whodat is lining up there that snap.

The issue with Horn is going to ultimately be cost, IMO. It's very hard to justify paying him as a top 5 or maybe even top 10 CB when in truth he has never been able to play at that level for long stretches of time, to say nothing of the availability concern.

I hope we learned from the CMC episode that it isn't wise to be signing mega deals to players with persistent injury concerns.

Hunter needs to stick to defense. McMillan is an enigma that I haven't decided on yet. Competition makes a difference.

I am fine with whatever role Hunter decides but he would have to give up the idea of being a FT two way player. My big concern with him is quite literally the excess mileage he has accured doing that in college.

I like McMillian, in terms of where I would slotted him in the 2024 draft class it would be behind Nabers(my #1) and Harrison Jr. Probably similar to Rome Oduze, which I realize might not be a comforting comparison but in that same talent range.

I know he gets Mike Evans comps, I would say Mike Evans light.

I think Hunter will be a lockerroom problem eventually in the nfl. He was going off on coaches during the bowl game. He was mouthing off at everyone. It wasn't a good look.

I also like that kid Kingston I think is his name from BYU. There's some hidden gems in this draft at wr if you look hard enough. You just have to look past the 2 that is constantly being hyped.

And THAT is how teams become champions--look at the Steelers' drafts in the 70s---the Seahawks in the 2000s...

You become relevant on days 2 and 3 of the draft.  Lately, we have been crippled by a huge dead cap and some mediocre to bad first round selections.  Sure, we got a decent to good player, but at the position we drafted, there are better players drafted afterwards.

Bad drafting sets up for all kinds of failures.  It makes you go out in FA and overspend, which leads to huge cap numbers, which limits how many other key pieces can brought in to finish the puzzle.  Until we can start drafting better, this team is doomed.  One, maybe two hits in each draft isn't going to cut it.

Just read up on him a bit--love the WR who got where he is due to diligence, hard work, focus on mechanics and details, etc.  Some rely on talent and ride the wave as far as it takes them--since they did not have to work for what has, for a lifetime, been "god given" talent that has always resulted in success--I think they are simply feeling for their ceilings.

If you look at the deepest teams in the NFL, they all draft fairly well. But, some of that is also enhanced by being good franchises. A lot of their guys aren't forced into early action in situations where it is challenging to develop. TBH, we have never had a situation in our franchise history where we had sustained success in the draft.

Shocker we haven't ever had back to back winning seasons, right?

If we miss out on T-Mac, take a look at the other Higgins; kid out of Iowa State in the 2nd round.  Same build and everything. Watching highlights, he's the anti-XL...complete hands catcher.  Rarely does the ball get to his body.  I also like Jalen Royals out of Utah State as an inside/slot type.

I am over 40 times at WR. If you don't have elite hands on tape, I don't want you here.

To an extent.  Given all other things equal (great hands, route running, tree knowledge etc..) I'll take a 6'4" WR that runs a 4.55, but not a 5'11" wideout.

I am just done with any RAS king that has suspect issues with hands, route running, etc.

No more TMJ's, Mingo's, XL's, etc.

Be good at the job of a WR.

I totally get it. I get bagged on for looking at guys highlight reels to evaluate them, but those same people drool over elite RAS players although they have suspect positional traits and still pound the table to draft them.
