There is another WR who seems to be under the radar--Bech, from TCU I think.  Like Legette, had a strong SR year without doing too much before that, but his hands are great--will see how he runs.  Beck reminds me of AT, from what little I have seen

I also like that kid Kingston I think is his name from BYU. There's some hidden gems in this draft at wr if you look hard enough. You just have to look past the 2 that is constantly being hyped.

Wilson or Higgins are a great solution but we have no idea if they want anything to do with us. Frankly, it may have to involve a top 5 at position salary(if not #1 overall) to make it even a possibility.

Wilson has no say, he is only on his third year next year and can't negate a trade. So bring him, if he kills it make him rich and smile.

This draft is very light on elite talent but there are a lot of positions that have substantial depth. WR, EDGE, etc.

There is no excuse to not end up with 2 new starters with our first two picks.

Sure but why would you want to bring in a guy that literally doesn't want to be here? That isn't likely to work out the way we hope.

I still doubt they move him, TBH. I suspect they are far more likely to move on from Rodgers than move Wilson.

There have been gems found late at WR every year.  Everyone is saying that we need a #1, and I get it.  However, Coker and XL are rookies and they will improve--how much?  Who knows.  Theilen has been great, but of course, he is showing signs of aging-drives with his turn signal on and goes to Golden Corral at 4:30 for dinner.  Last year was the year to grab a #1--I am not even sure the best WR in this draft will be a #1.  Kids can be successful in college with suspect hands and bad route running--if they can run they get overevaluated, in my view.  I think a kid who runs crisp routes, is fundamentally sound, has great hands, etc. would give us what we need--especially if we get a top TE--which may be the way to go in a down WR market and draft.  Sanders is showing signs--and he would still be effective as the #2 WR.  Tremble as the #3.  The kid from Penn State could be the sleeper pick in round 2.  Mark my wirds!!

I think that elite term is overplayed. None of these guys are elite at the nfl level and a majority will never be. What we want are gamers, not paper warriors. All too often players are valued by measurements and not proven ability. Find those guys that will be better than the 2 everyone is fawning over.

I mean, lots of players play at places they don't want too. If the do really well, suddenly they always wanted to be there, if they dont, then they make it known.

He is not in a good situation, and it is getting to him.  I think this would be a great acquisition.  What would I trade for him?  Imagine Wilson, AT, XL Coker and maybe a stud TE.

Here is an interesting question:  Would you trade Horn for him straight up?  They would love the Horn / Sauce CB tandem, we would not have to pay him a king's ransom, etc.  I would make the trade--injury history/salary, etc.

Well in this context we are talking about "talent."

The pool of players that have potential to be top 10 players at their position is fairly small in this draft. This is largely the general of view this class.

That doesn't mean you can't get very good players or starters. It doesn't mean guys won't perform better than their "projections." That happens all the time.

But these general takes on a class or position tend to be correct more often than they aren't.

Good recent example was that 2022 QB class which was largely viewed as one of the worst in recent memory. And, it's largely been that....minus Brock Purdy. But the entire rest of that class is 2nd or 3rd string QB's after amassing a LOT of games started.

Yeah I would do that trade, and the take the top CB in the draft. If we get him with out using our top 10 pick, even better!

I am not saying don't trade for him or at least consider it, but I also don't want to give up a king's ransom for a guy that bolts in a couple of years because he never wanted to be here in the first place.

And this is all speculative. We have no idea what his feelings about us are. I am just saying that in general I don't want guys that really, really don't want to be here.

I agree that the draft has depth at WR, Edge, and I would add that I like the LB depth as well.

I am not liking the depth at starting QB (I am not sure there is one) but I love the depth at developmental QBs, TE, OL, or #1 WRs--if that is a real thing (theory).  I do like the WR depth overall.  I think there are gems throughout the draft at WR, and it depends on the system, qb, and chemistry with the other WRs, but there are some great WRs out there drafted late or not at all.

I mean, who in their right mind wouldn't make that trade?

Horn is a very good player but he is less likely to end up being elite at his position than Wilson is, IMO.

    • The season is really starting to lose its fun factor. I don’t see how we win much less score an actual goal.  All of our big guns have disappeared.  Ghost is hurt and out for awhile.  Drury is out.  Koochie was great these past couple years and for some reason he has regressed. The defense isn’t playing well. ESP Burns and Slavin. I’d be shocked if this team made the playoffs.  But, any given game right?  Just win tonight. Somehow.
