Michigan raised, went to school in Arizona, happens to be a Panthers fan.

Yep makes sense to me lol

Don't worry, all my friends still give me poo for it too

Grew up a Michigan football fan, Biakabutuka was my favorite player, and liked the Panthers logo and got a mini helmet when I visited the HOF the summer before our first season.  So once we drafted him going into that 2nd season and I already liked the team, it hooked me, 30 years later and have never wavered.

But yes, I have a very random mixture of favorite teams because of it, especially when you now add Wrexham in there too.

The trade value is no longer expected?

Being the #1 pick is no longer expected?

Being a 1st round QB is no longer expected?

We're now hoping he can perform as well as Nick Foles?

I think it's a reach to expect him to be on the same level as Kirk Cousins. Maybe he can reach a Ryan Fitzpatrick level of success. At this point, he's Josh Rosen level, and Kenny Pickett would be an improvement. Is Young even projecting to go beyond his rookie contract or get the 5th year option?

There must be a minimum standard set for a QB in the NFL. Improving from the lowest bar possible is not the way to find a franchise QB.

Collins in playoffs 2nd season. Beuerlein in playoffs 2nd season. Delhomme in playoffs 1st season. Newton in playoffs 3rd season. Weinke, Peete, Clausen, Allen, Bridgewater, Darnold & Mayfield were all one and done. Young is the first Panthers QB who isn't held to a winning standard.

I never wanted the Panthers to be in Justin Fields & EJ Manuel territory. Now, here we are lowering the bar & making excuses for Bryce Young going into year three. Even Mitchell Trubisky turned his bad team around in 2 years.

This is truly one of the most retarded takes I've ever seen. Young has underachieved (other than the last couple months) but you don't even look at the numbers when you throw out crap like this.

Josh Rosen's best QB rating ever was 88.9 in a 30-10 loss. Young's surpassed that twice in the last month. Hell, Rosen's career QB rating is low 60s -- a hell of a lot lower than Young's mid-70s rating.

Now, Young will play like crap the last two games in large part because he has no weapons, no run game, absolutely no defense and a crap OL, but he'll be expected to be 1984 Dan Marino by the people who consider him 2019 Josh Rosen. Makes no sense.

Kinda like those comparisons.

Also, look up the number of times Jake and Cam had the 32nd-ranked defense. Young's ceiling is below theirs, no doubt at all (I'd like a QB in this draft personally and not in the 6th-7th round) but those teams had strong defenses and weapons like Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad or Steve Smith, Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey (who'd probably trump Thielen now).

I like Bryce. At this point the draft is in the past and you have to assess what we have.

His passer rating has improved consistently since returning from the bench to the point his last game was top 10. Even the Dallas game, his passer rating was more than double his rating of his first two games this season.

I see QB as not the most pressing need, especially with this draft class.

Jesus, how many excuses are you going to make for Young. He went from dogshit to human poo, congrats.

Bryce could literally walk up and hand the ball to a defender and people like this would say something about how the jerseys look similar.

Great nevermind that he already has the worst WR room in the NFL let's see how he does without the only weapon he has lol. People waiting for Bryce to fail are hilarious

The WR room has left a lot to be desired at times this season but worst in the NFL is a bit melodramatic. Coker has lots of potential Thielen is a rock solid veteran Sanders and Tommy Tremble have shown promise. David Moore has had some solid receptions. Legette is the main one out of the group that has been very hot and cold.

And furthermore let me just say. Some of you really need to stop being so pitifully thin skinned when having honest discussions about our offense and QB. There is absolutely nothing controversial about suggesting it would be beneficial to our first overall pick and his development heading into next season which is a crucial one for both him and our franchise as a whole for him to have at least a couple of solid outings against our division rivals without the presence of Chuba Hubbard. That would be a nice confidence boost for all involved.

It's insane this even needs to be reiterated.

Name a team with a worse WR room

We are better than last year, though not by much, so I guess things are on the upswing.  The OL took a huge leap forward which has to be the MVP of 2024.  That allowed Bryce to play better and got Chuba a new contract.  The defense took a huge step backwards.  STs have been so-so.

Again, I see marginal improvement overall, but not nearly enough to start saving money for Super Bowl tickets over.
