Am I the only one who sees the light at the end of the tunnel?

I don't see any light yet because I don't think the players themselves are the real issue. Tepper and Morgan traded a fortune to go get a QB and in doing so hamstrung the ability to bring in top tier talent through the draft. The trade is still relevant because we have to finish paying for it this year. A top rd 2 pick should be guaranteed starter level. We need that desperately. 

I see us doing a lot of what we did before with Cam and that's extremely concerning for me.

A good GM can overcome this and with us somehow getting the Ram's 2nd for this year (still not sure how DM pulled that off) the handicap from the Bryce trade is basically gone now and we have a full deck to work with again. DMs first draft looked really good early then fizzled a bit as the season went on mostly due to XL regressing and Brooks getting reinjured. Can't argue he had an excellent FA tho. I'm excited to see what he does this draft and FA.

I think it is evident if you read opinions that there are two groups of Huddlers:  Those who refer to themselves as realists when they are actually pessimists and if positivity is presented to them, they do all they can to discount it.  There are also the dreamers, those who are finding victories and bright spots in what has been a seven year stroll through Tepper's sewer.  If you can't see the positives now, you either don't want to be wrong or your life has been so chock full of humiliation and failure, you see no other possible outcome.  Canales has this team upbeat and optimistic when they are 4-12.  He got a terrible QB playing better, and the team has become competitive.   Those are facts, but if you say it, you get bombarded by the pessimists who feel the need to call you a dreamer who does not understand the game of football.

No Cam, you are not the only optimist on here and there is plenty of reasons to know that if you read the posts of others carefully.  I am excited about the offseason.

You can't let the pessimists drag you down; it is how they feel equal, as opposed to sharing a positive vision.  I am critical at times, but i am also hopeful.

Quite simply, we don't know why someone who is constantly berating the Panthers would spend so much time on boards attacking others who do not share his darkest dispositions.  Perhaps it was the restraining order their mothers filed against them when they were breast feeding.  Maybe it was the humility of constantly being rejected by hookers--we will never know.  I see people with no counter points attacking those with them--calling others "dumb" because if you have no points or a valid argument, you attack those that do.  It is common today. 

The Happy Police monitor this board to make sure no sunshine peeps through the clouds.  They thrive in negativity and gloom, something that started long before they were huddlers.

XL had a fast start--12 catches in 3 games, but then he slowed his roll a bit--when AT and Johnson were out, he faced better DBs--and that is the reason he seemed to drop off--he will be better next year, imo.  But when you go from facing the #2 CB to the #1 CB, that would be like going from Mike Jackson to Horn vs. us.  It is a huge step.  Mike J is good, but Horn is better.  It is also about the time Dalton took over-a rookie WR developing chemistry with one QB might find switching to a vet and back more difficult than a vet might.   I am not too worried about him--I saw some good routes.  His primary issues are his hands and mindset.   Both can be fixed.

I like the way things are trending with Canales as a rookie coach. Morgan didnt do him any favors with XL and Brooks with the high picks... Sanders and Coker saved this past draft. This next draft is going to tell us where we are going in 26.... and if you really think Dipper is staying out of things...you a special kind of igneant...

I would say it’s little glimmer of light right around the bend that gives you hope but we need a homerun this free agency to make sure we don’t lose steam

Yeah, this is a critical offseason. We can't afford another bad draft and we need another very solid free agency on top of it.

We still have to go through missing a 2nd round pick in the upcoming draft, top 40 pick. Still gonna sting for another year

Ok? The "best weapon" on the offense had 43 yards on 12 carries, no receptions and a backbreaking fumble the last time they played the Bucs. Meanwhile the lowly QB had the only rushing TD and passed for nearly 300 yards and another TD. Just saying.

Regardless of where he was drafted we want to see BY able to carry the offense to a victory himself. It's been close and ultimately he's been let down a couple times by receivers, then he got bailed out last week

Without Chuba though, we are in theory far more one dimensional... And that dimension is pretty weak given skill players. So I'm hoping to see some development from BY over these last two weeks to keep us competitive as he has at times since his benching, and to ideally push us past the finish line.
