Garrett Wilson

Garrett Wilson could be an excellent addition for us, but I’m not convinced we will be able to get him for a price that makes sense for us. I think we’d be talking a first rounder or a second and some extra picks. With our team not being a receiver away from contention, we’d be better off building through the draft. There’ll be good receivers in the draft class and we can continue to build the trenches and upgrade the defense.

No way I'm trading away a decent LT for a WR

We’d be better off for the future if we had taken Wilson instead of Iky. Based on where we will draft, one of two stud LTs will very likely be available to us. With the two QBs, two CBs, Graham and maybe Carter, we might be better at LT with Wilson also. Iky is always going to be a liability pass blocking.

We also could have gone CB or C instead of XL. Team wise, I think we’d be better overall. I’m worried we may miss out on the clear defensive studs in this draft and reach because we don’t want a LT.

You can get a Garrett Wilson by prioritizing actual WR skills instead of RAS scores when drafting.

You can still prioritize ras, just make sure they do agility drills too.  Lol.  All the high ras guys we draft don't do any agility drills.  Their high ras comes entirely from height, weight, and 40 lol

Just go with film over measurables.  Take the best player.  Maybe his ceiling isn't the greatest receiver of all time, but he'll be more likely to contribute to the team.

This...is...stupid.

I don't understand why some are quick to trade Ickey. Only fans that don't understand our history at the position for the last decade, or just don't understand positional value due to availability (or simply luck) would be pushing a trade like that.

LTs are prime scapegoats, I would say second to only QB on the offensive side of the ball. So when the offense laid an egg versus Dallas, Ickey was right in the crosshairs.  Granted, it was his worst game all season, but having one bad game 14 games in shouldn't necessitate a mob of angry villagers with their pitch forks on the Huddle like last week.  The "trade Ickey" thread was over the top.

Why?

Diontae Johnson is a different type of malcontent. He was well known for not practicing at all if he had the slightest injury in Pittsburgh. And that’s from an organization with a strong culture, contrast that with Wilson who has been saddled with an organization that literally makes decisions based on the owners teenage sons and madden rankings. I’m not saying we need to trade the farm for him, just saying that he is not Diontae Johnson.
