Geno was a seasoned veteran that had never really looked particularly respectable as a starter.

Bryce has basically one decent game in a sea of putrid awfulness.  He was on his way out of the league - and imo, Canales role in his improvement is even more clear given the start of the season.

I'd say that Canales helped them both a lot. Baker is harder to say all things considered.

Canales pretty much saved bryces career. Most other coaches wouldn't have done that move. And to think the media and fans led a whole crusade against him for those couple of weeks and are still dodging giving him his credit as if bryce was just somehow magically turn it around out of nowhere if he kept playing.

The checkdowns to Hubbard and more scrambles are exactly what he needs to do to get defenses more on their heels. These last two weeks should be a force feed to XL gameplan to see if he’s a WR1. I wouldn’t even risk playing Chuba

Bryce Young's success in the passing game relies heavily on the success Chuba Hubbard has in the running game .teams know they have to stop the run early in the game like the Cowboys & force BY to beat them with his arm

just saying a strong running game opens up the passing game.especially so if your RB was the NFC player of the week

Not sure that's completely true. Some of Youngs best games since the benching were ones when Canales seemed to forget we were a running team.

Really? Mostly high level? The play of Young in his recent games would be a down game, forget down, would be the worst game of the season for high level QBs. Tepper has broke us we don't even know what avg QB play is anymore much less good.

Sorry don't mean it as an attack but the idea we move forward with Young is such a bummer and the idea that we have fans that think this guy has done anything high level is so frustrating.

Did Bryce improve or did Bryce just get back to being Bryce. Same can be said about Geno and Baker. Let’s just not forget these were top level prospects.

What I’ve seen from Canales has been on the psychological side more than the physical side. We’ve seen these guys be talented

I think the psychological side is the most important side--these are kids playing under tremendous pressure---it is very mental.  Good point.

3 of Bryce’s most recent games since he was benched puts him at I think #1, #3, and #4 for those weeks out of all QBs in the NFL per PFF. #1 being this week against the cardinals.

I think he’s playing better than you are giving him credit for.

so i am not exactly sure what game you are even talking about but now the best i can remember Canleas forgot to run the ball after we had already established the run earlier in the game & why Canales elected to do this after the run game had been so effective previously in the game is simply just bad coaching or either Canales was taking what the defense was giving him at that point & time in the game & elected not to run against a stacked box .either or a strong run game takes defensive coverage away from the recievers making it easier to pass the ball ...just saying

Something really important to note but Young's father was a mental health therapist, and Young himself got a degree in psychology. I'm a lot more confident now saying Bryce may not be physically gifted, but he may possess an advantage on the mental aspect that few others have. Pair that with a guy like Canales that seems more focused on that part of the game compared to other coaches, it's almost like the ideal pairing to basically reboot Bryce Young back to factory spec within the span of a few weeks.

Bigcat at Barstool was talking about Purdy and said he’s a guy you win with. Not a guy you win becasue of. Like Allen, Jackson, Mahomes, and Burrow. I’m all for Bryce being our QB the next 2 years, but you can’t go out there a pay him like a top 12 QB when we become a .500 ball club.

I call bullshit. Brady,Manning,Brees and Burrow are all just ball distributors. And the better thier supporting cast and more experience they got the better they got. Thier best attributes were between the ears.

Now I'm not saying Bryce is gonna turn into one of them but what I want is for him. Is to have a solid roster around him and some coaching continuity too see if he takes the next step. Because everything I've seen and read after the benching is that his mental toughness and workethic are what we need in a QB
