Tepper has fuged us so much. I wonder if we'll ever know definitively what power he exerted. It seems he's finally letting Canales and Morgan alone, so I'm really hopeful.

The one heartening thing to me is we finally did the smart thing this last offseason and invested a ton in our OL. The problem is that left the D neglected... But I think this offseason can do a lot. I'm not as down on our offseason as others - our draft looks much worse because our 2nd round pick was a dud, but free agency wasn't bad, and we finally have young offensive weapons to have some excitement about. The 2 later round drafted D players both had some nicer games late this season - which is about what you can ask for.

We invested a ton in OGs. That's not smart.

Good OGs are extremely valuable, and made sense given our OTs and QB. I'd rather have drafted a center but...

We're in a good position for the next couple years on the OL now for the first time since, what, the early mid 2000s?

They're valuable from a roster stand point, they're not valuable from a cap stand point.

We sunk far too much money into them.

See also, RBs.

We look better and more competitive (Last game notwithstanding) than all of last year and the beginning of this year.

We lost two of our best defensive players within the first few weeks of the season, and the guy we brought in to replace the pass rush void of both luvu and burns didn't make it onto the field until a few weeks ago due to some unfortunate post op setbacks.

Bryce looks better than last year. The offense looks better than last year. The team as a whole looks better than last year. Vibes in general, seem better than last year.

Let's see how much they improve next year and judge that. If all we're doing is comparing Canales' first year to Reich's first year - Canales is light-years ahead of where Reich was. Hopefully we can build on it. And if Bryce ends up being completely trash but the rest of the team improves, then the '25/'26 draft is going to be the time to draft a QB.

The good OGs are getting paid now. Teams are moving around their top rushers and OGs are becoming as valuable as any other position in the OL. Maybe they are easier to find, but if you get a good one they get paid well.
