I'm down waiting until next year given our draft position but I still think we need a QB out of this draft, even if it's developmental in 3rd/4th. Someone young and hungry.

We have a ton of day 3 picks.  It's worth taking a swing with one of them.

I really just want Young gone after this season. I don't think I can take another year of everyone pretending he isn't horrible and getting excited when he has a 185 yard game.

I would rather take a Journeyman and a 2nd Rounder than deal with this another year.

Allar just announced that he’s going back to school

That class next year is going to be loaded

Manning, Nico, Nuss, Allar

I wouldn’t waste a pick on a QB and just see this through for another year

Ewers is most likely going back as well but he’s ass so don’t matter

Allar is smart to do it, but he had a breakout year-betting on himself--he is 20.  I read that Nuss had gone back--he needed it--with a little discipline, he can be special--

I really think Rourke has the quick release, size, and x factor we need.  I mean, Indiana?  I think he is the sleeper--but you know how it goes when your exposure to a player is so limited.

Beck, Dart and Gabriel are likely QB3 QB4 and QB5...Yuck.  He hasn't announced yet, but I'm 99% sure Milroe goes back too.  Dart and Gabriel could be okay in the right system.  I have never liked Beck...at all.  That said, if Milroe and Ewers go back  (late first rounders), we are looking at a two selection first round QB draft.  Woof!

The last half of last year beck was exceptional.  This year not so much

Waste of a draft pick

We used to say this when Cam was still the starter. Needless to say we're a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng way from that.

Now we have what looks like at current best case scenario a solid backup caliber QB we selected #1 overall.

And still there are some people deadset against even the thought of adding a young QB to a current QB room comprised of Andy Dalton and Jack Plummer lol.

The solution, considering that we will not be drafting Ward or Sanders, is to draft a player like Ewers or Allar or Milroe in round 2. Only Ewers might be ready to start in 2025 if necessary--the others are developmental)  My preference? wait until rounds 3 or even 4 and draft a guy with tools who need to be coached up--Beck could be damaged goods who could use time to sit and watch and learn--Rourke is my favorite bargain basement QB whose skills match what we are doing.  Finally, we need a veteran backup who might want a shot at the starting gig.  Justin Fields comes to mind.  I think they wanted a mentor for Bryce, not a competitor, which is why Dalton was brought in.  Screw that--everyone competes--nothing is promised.

I think Canales could do something with Fields.  If we had Fields, Young, and let's say Rourke on the roster, I would feel a bit better about the QB position.

Quinn Ewers or Milroe in the second lmao get the fug out of here

Ewers is getting run out of Texas because he sucks and milroe is going to be running routes at the combine.

Do you even watch college football

This will humble us a little bit... WOW. This team really thought they'd arrived and was totally feeling themselves because they had a couple of competitive losses against good teams. I mean... oh my god LOLOLOLOL

That mindset comes directly from our rah rah “Mr Positivity” head coach. It’s pathetic.

    • Nissan in the 80's and 90's generally were extremely reliable vehicles. Nissan engines and transmissions for the last 20 years or so however are hit and miss at best. I would be highly skeptical of any hype but that's just me.
    • We switched to the 3-4 at the start of the 2019 season. I remember reading an article on the web...possibly even from this site...stating that this was what Tepper wanted and Rivera obliged him. We've hired 3 head coaches since then and none of them has even hinted at moving back to a 4-3. I can't help but think that our owner still wants to run a 3-4, but I could be wrong. I wish someone could bring this up at a postseason conference and gauge the attitude to such a question/suggestion.
    • Your spellcheck, autocorrect, or whatever is failing you. Canales has been getting praise from many podcasts and sports media. He is getting quite a bit more out of this team than people imagined. They have loss five or more games by less than one score. That happens all the time during a rebuild/turn around. You have to learn how to win and part of that is penalties. There is positivity around the team now and the last thing they need to do is fire their head coach. They do have a lot of penalties, but they have been dealing with a new system, youth, and injuries all season long. It is just the way the cookie crumbles with those factors in play. Now please be quiet.🤣
