Has this game changed feelings about Young?

The entire team shat the bed. The thing that is most disappointing is that Young showed his negative tendencies and deficiencies again. I can't put the entire blame on him by any means. I was hoping that they had laid having to take a QB early to rest, I'm not so sure now.

I know the Oline stunk it up big time and didn't help Bryce at all. The coaching on both sides of the ball got owned. Do you feel confident that taking a QB later in the draft would work or in the top of the draft would be a better move.

The draft will have to primarily on defense, no doubt. Just not confident yet that Bryce would be the guy long term. Better to be save than sorry.

Nah, as bad as he was, there were still signs of NFL QB play today, unlike before the benching. If he plays like the previous three games for the next three games then he deserves next year. If the next three games are like today, and Ward is available at our pick we should take him.

Well so far in his career he has had maybe 5 decent to good games and 20 bad ones. I think those numbers speak for themselves.

Is there still a chance he can turn it around and become a franchise QB? Sure, but I would say that's highly unlikely.

No. He's not a franchise QB, but he's not the worst QB of all time like we feared in September. He was on a heater for a while and he had a bad game in a game I said all week was a horrible matchup for this team. If you don't give up >200 yards rushing and fail miserably on third downs, you can probably overcome 2-3 of his turnovers. But the whole team sucked other than Coker. Young would've needed to have his best game ever to win when the defense is this decimated and awful.

Not enough to justify taking a QB in the first round given a weak class and when the entire team stinks and needs help.

Give it another year, but even if we decide to eventually move on we need to put a QB in a better situation.

    • For what its worth, as a Huddler and football fan, this is a lesson I won't forget.
    • I don't think he's using the term luxury pick correctly
    • 1. Couldn’t run the ball effectively Zimmer took away the run game early and forced us to throw, especially when we got down early due to turnovers. Canales abandoned too early when we came out of the half he probably should’ve tried to re-establish the run 2. Pressure Cowboys defensive line generated significant pressure without having to blitz resulting in 6 sacks and constant pressure to disrupt the rhythm between Bryce and his receivers  3. Lack of separation on deep routes  Aside from the Coker play, receivers can’t get separation quickly enough to make them pay deep for stacking the box due to #2 above. Bryce also seemed less decisive than last few weeks, not sure if he was seeing new looks that made him hesitate  4. No YAC (other than Coker TD) Short throws were there due to two deep safeties but our receivers don’t have the ability to run after catch.  Not sure if this is also a schematic problem. Canales tried it with XL a couple of times. Conversely Dallas got a ton of YAC from similar short throws  5. Turnovers.   You can’t win in NFL if you do this. Bryce must do better.
