Anyone who thinks he doesn’t. Chuba only had three carries in the second half and our center and wide receivers consistently false start.  How does a center false start???

Because the ball is snapped when hunt slaps the center on the thigh. The rest of the line is going off hunt. That’s why when it looked like everyone else moved but mays at the goal line, the refs called a false start on hunt. It’s weird and they didn’t show a replay because I’m not sure anyone realized what happened

They could be doing the snap like this for a few reasons and I’m not positive but…

1. Bryce can only read the field when the lineman are in their stance. He’s getting a play from Canales, then he puts someone in motion to see if it’s man or zone, then hikes and hunt hits the center. The downside is this takes a long time and the offensive line have to hold that position for a while.

2. they can’t hear Bryce’s cadence. This would also explain why they never hard count

3. They’re taking something off their backup centers hands so he can focus on the snap/pulling/whatever

4. it keeps Bryce from having to go under center

QB, RB, LT, DC seem to be forced on Canales. He's developed Coker, XL & J.Sanders very well. Brooks was looking good, but a good GM should have known not to get an injured RB in the first 3 rounds.

Let Canales choose his QB, LT, and RB.

I don't get how we pick and choose sometimes.  I mean, Brooks was taken in Canales' first draft.  Hubbard was paid midway through Canales' first season.   Is he not picking them?

Are they doing well? Canales picked them

one thing I've noticed since Mays took over at center is that he doesn't snap the ball on time when Bryce is calling for the snap. the play clock would be at 5 seconds left and Bryce is clapping and yelling for the snap. the playclock would tick down to or past zero before the is snapped. then either the other linemen would false start or we end up wasting a timeout. now defensive pass rushers know this and are knowing teeing off on it

Think it's just a product of living in the shotgun.  They snapped the ball like that with Cam most of his career in the shotgun.   G looking back and tapping the C.  Highlight reel from 2011 or 2015 show it.
