This game is gonna open a huge can of worms for panther fans everywhere lol

so many people crowned bryce on a very small sample size of good games and now he has a horrible game against a bad cowboys team

im not saying this wipes out the progress that bryce made. But boy oh boy does it mean that QB isnt a solved problem for this organization. This game shows you its still an unknown.

i wouldnt expect the panthers to draft a qb in R1  but . Any other round? I wouldn't be surprised. Especially if bryce has another bad game or multiple before the year ends

Brilliant

So, I think what we’ve learned in this stretch since BY has been back in the lineup is BY isn’t as bad as he looked, but he still isn’t the future, and Canales is a really good coach who can get the most out of any QB.  Today, the defense and OL have been a huge problem, but I think we’re still in this game without Bryce’s turnovers.  He’s not as horrible as he looked last year and the first two games this year, but he is still only a backup-level QB in the pros.

The fumbles are one thing, but that can of corn he just threw on top of that?  We’ve seen enough.

Whatever Young had on his deep throws vs KC and TB has just been gone today.

If we see another game like this this year I think we should consider a QB if one actually falls to us.

Honestly my friend I'm looking at it like those games were possibly a fugazi just like that Packers game was last season.

These small sample sizes of better play aren't enough to judge. At best right now all we can say is he is up and down. And his definition of up really isn't that high not to justify a first overall pick. But his definition of down? It's really bad.

Still figuring out when to put some pepper on his passes. He has to figure that out. Don't understand the "he can't make that throw" crew. He's done it alot. He just didn't. That's the concern. Not that he can't but he isn't. Just default to putting some fire on thise passes.

    • If I had to guess, people don't talk about it much because it would probably be better than it is if our pass game wasn't so mid.  Even in the games Bryce looked better, our pass game still didn't and doesn't threaten a single soul out there.  It just isn't good enough. It also doesn't help that we don't have anybody behind Hubbard.  Hubbard is good, but unless you have one of the top dogs like Barkley and Henry, you need a quality back-up.  Remember when Stewart would be having a bad day, but Williams was going off?  And vice versa?  Sometimes a different back can create different results.  When Hubbard isn't getting it done (for whatever reason - not blaming him necessarily), then that is just it for our run game. Bucs have that going on right now with Bucky Irving / Rachaad White.   But mostly I just think it is a result of the pass game not being good enough, the receivers not threatening DBs enough, and quite frankly Bryce Young still being a limited QB.  Certainly improving (despite the performance today), but still limited.  We're also for whatever reason getting nothing out of the tight end position.
    • I would just keep an eye on his play the rest of the season and see how it goes. He wasn't all world today but his line looked terrible as well so I can't fully fault him. He still shows much more courage and some competitive spirit week to week than he ever did all last season so I would just wait and see. I can see week to week it's going to be "Bryce is awful" if he doesn't have a solid game every game. I personally don't know what I think of him as a long term answer but could get a clearer picture observing him the last few games but I would most definitely bring in competition in the off-season. That still doesn't mean I would be drafting a QB in the first round this season but I would look to bring in some competition regardless.
