"Don’t Look Now, but Bryce Young is Closing the Gap on C.J. Stroud"

You outright blamed Bryce for being sacked 60+ times last season and then said that CJ was sacked this season as many times as Bryce was last. Please, have a seat before you start telling folks which QBs we're not allowed to compare Bryce to.

I outright blamed bryce for 62 SACKS? ....okay sure.

And no...what i said was that cj was sacked a lot like bryce last year, not as much and is being sacked more this year... and if you combine both years they both have been sacked equally as much in the league so far. Yet somehow stroud is still putting up better numbers and is heading to the playoffs 2 straight years.

Once again,  you make poo up for argument purposes.

There is nothing controversial about wanting to protect the QB and wanting to invest in protecting the QB almost everyone here has agreed on that and even people who have been Bryce skeptics had wanted us to go even further and draft C instead of a running back with an already torn ACL.

This narrative you're pushing that no one wanted to protect our QB or invest in the OL because they wanted him to do it all by himself is nonsense and you know it.

Exactly! Hell, I was pushing hard to draft  powers johnson in the second. I didn't even want Brooks.  Lol

I will say on the investing in the offense bit - I really think we need to invest far more in our defense this offseason, to the point that I don't want to ignore our offense but feel if must be treated basically like we treated our defense last year. We are clearly losing games because of our D now.

And some of that is because, yes, I think we invested a ton in the offense this year and whomever is our QB needs to be able to run a functioning offense with what we have and a minor upgrade or two.

We don't need much on offense besides a WR. Draft Tmac and use the rest of the draft to fix the defense.

Graham won't be available when we pick. Get Bryce his #1 WR and the offense is set.

so  CJ Stroud & the Houston Texans are in first place in the AFC South & the Carolina Panthers are in last place in the NFC South

CJ Stroud has passed for almost 4,000 yards this season & Bryce Young has passed for almost 2,000 yards

& then the Texans have had  all kinds of injuries to their starting WR this year Nico Collins missed alot of games earlier this year due to injuries & now  they are without Tank Dell.Houston just acquired Diontae Johnson off waivers this past week if that tells you anything about their WR situation

I wouldn't hate this but I'm not convinced TMac will be the best player available

And I will say if we've invested two first round receivers into our first round QB we better have one of the best offenses in the NFL next year lol. That is so much draft capital.

If we end up drafting TMac, which I hope we do, not taking Ladd is gonna look like a really bad move. Those 2 complement each other well. You would just need somebody as the #3 who is super fast straight line which you can get pretty cheap in FA

since week 8

Stroud: 9 games
178/297 (59.9%) | 2,014 Passing | 9 TDs / 8 INTs | 79.1 Passer Rate | 139 Rushing

Bryce: 8 games
157/257 (61%) | 1,623 Passing | 10 TDs / 6 INTs | 82.5 Passer Rate | 191 Rushing | 3 Rushing TDs

So "good" Young is pretty similar to "bad" Stroud. Is that the point you're making?

I know that folks are rightfully pounding the table for EDGE help as well as some more talent on the DL, but with only Demani Richardson under contract next season and the way Evero's system uses them I fully expect safety to be #1a or #1b in terms of priority.

Not taking Ladd already looks bad, tho how much of that is where he landed etc is hard to say.

I really hope we can find ways the next couple games to specifically feature Coker and Sanders so we can better evaluate them

It’s a fair assessment tho. “Bad” Young was 2023 where he had worse than what 2024 “bad” Stroud is working with. Obviously 2023 Stroud is the best but the question is was that a fluke or not (I don’t think it was) and can BY be as good or better when they are in similar situations

I'd love Xavier Watts with our late 2nd rounder. I think Jevon Holland's contract would be a luxury at this point Talanoa Hufanga on paper is an upgrade but i bet he demands a solid amount of money, but he's missed time last year and this year with injuries so scares me off.

    • I think we’re evaluating them for depth. Pretty much every position on defense can use an upgrade
