"Don’t Look Now, but Bryce Young is Closing the Gap on C.J. Stroud"

Tell us WHO SAID THIS?

Or is it just you projecting??

I haven't seen anyone going out of their way to blame everyone but Stroud that's a baffling claim that only reads like someone looking to muddy the waters.

He's always projecting. To him he and only he is the purest Panthers fan and he's been doing this for years. Did the same thing with Teddy Bridgewater to the point people were asking him if he was alright lol. None of this is as serious as he tries to make it out to be. We're all just fans talking and none of this is within our control.

The film will catch up to Bryce.

This doesn't make a lot of sense to me.  He's already started 24 games.  If "film catching up to him" was going to be a thing, then he should be getting worse right now, not better.  Because he already has a lot of film to dig through.

With that said, I still want to see Bryce finish this year strong to feel confident in him going into 2025.

It makes perfect sense.  He's playing differently now than in the past.  Stroud has been playing the same way for nearly two years.  Bryce looked horrible/lost last year and the first two games and got benched for a while. Again, defenses will adapt to how Bryce has adjusted his play.  It may not happen the last few games as we face some bad defensive teams, but I can see it next season for sure when not facing bottom of the League defenses.

Most of the Bryce skeptics do admit he was in a poo situation (see above and a Frankw and I commenting how silly it was to think out roster was better than theirs).  But man he was beyond bad in most games last year.  CJs struggles this year are a mix of things, but he still makes a few good plays a game.

I cannot honestly say that I have seen that, especially from the Bryce haters... frank being one of them. I've seen him state that Bryce was at fault for being sacked 60+ times last season and that the aforementioned performance of his teammates were just excuses for his abysmal rookie year. Hell, just this week he tried to insinuate that Aidan O'Connell is better than Bryce. That doesn't sound like somebody that recognizes nuance... especially with how he excuses CJ's struggles while justifying his condemnation of Bryce as he has done.

Whenever I see Bryce's rookie season brought up by detractors I very rarely see the asterisk regarding the bottom 5 OL, bottom 5 defense, bottom 5 weapons, and a coaching staff that couldn't/wouldn't work together. If anything, I see them try to talk about how bad CJ's team was on paper last season as if to say he was in an equally shitty situation. Which... really? We are going to keep focusing on preseason projections as if they're 100% correct instead of what actually happened on the field? The Texans were a GOOD team last season and are still a good team this season.

Hence my earlier question. I had seen multiple posts mention how bad Bryce was his rookie season only to turn around and excuse CJ for his struggles this season (or dismiss his struggles while amifying Bryce's). It's incredibly goofy to say the least.

This is nonsense and you know it. I acknowledged the state of the OL last season many times.

And we spent $150 million on that OL in the offseason and Bryce opened the season with two of the worst QB performances we've seen in a long time.

Also I didn't say O'Connell is "better". I said statistically based on passer rating he is currently right there with Aiden O'Connell and Andy Dalton. Which is a fact. Anyone that cannot handle that needs to sort that out on their own. Perhaps a therapist can help.

To be clear, CJs struggling season is still quite good for a young player.
