Strengths.  Drag route and high pointing

problem isn’t his hands

struggles waiting on balls and balls in front of him …he thinks it is just a mental thing

I’ve shared this young man’s analysis previously…he isnt as polished as many but he really is pretty good

Then he needs to work out with Bryce after practice, before practice,  on madden, in his dreams. Get that timing and concentration down

Not every ball will be perfectly thrown in the breadbasket. Thats why he gets paid millions to catch balls. Now he needs to catch them

But I do have some optimism he has the work ethic to work it out

There is definitely a hands problem. The question is whether and how much the cause is mechanical or mental.

Rather than attacking these balls, he’s waiting on them and body catching. He’s even jumping at times to secure a body catch. These are mechanics that can be fixed.

That said, a common reason for being hesitant to get extended is anticipating getting hit. If that’s the driving force, he has to work through it mentally. That hospital ball in the first quarter of the Eagles game wont help.

I like pool and try to play when I can. CJ Wiley is a pool player who had a pretty high gear in his prime. I’m not sure if he came up with this philosophy, but he said he has a shout out for it in Tiger’s caddy’s book. I can’t substantiate it.

There are no hard or easy shots. They all are just shots.

He attributes that thought process in him taking the next step in his game. The brain reacts differently in what it perceives to be easy or difficult. Instead, just look at a shot as a shot… or a catch is just a catch.

X has made some stud, crucial catches and dogged some ones that he has no excuse dropping. There may, and probably are, other factors at play, but this perspective could be really helpful.
