I must have missed where the Lions have won a championship (btw they have 2 elite WRs as well and St. Brown is a superstar WR)

The Lions have the best record in the NFC.  But you can probably insert the Chiefs, Rams, Patriots etc..  Chiefs had Tyreek Hill (fifth round pick) and the Rams had Kupp (3rd round pick), so neither of them spent high draft picks to get elite WR's.  The chiefs spent a first to get worthy, but he is certainly not elite as yet.

St Brown was a 4th round pick.  So I am not sure he is a good argument to spend a top 10 pick on a wr.

I’m down for TMac with our first pic. I gotta do more research on Hunter, but I like what I’ve seen from TMac. Elite hands and body control. I said it elsewhere but I could see him and XL giving us a Fitz-Boldin combo for years. Would go a long way, with Coker as the dependable slot guy. If there’s an elite pass rusher that would also be a strong pick. What I’ve seen from Carter so far doesn’t scream elite to me, but I’ve just watched a few YouTube videos so I’m far from sufficiently educated.

Also, TMAC/XL/Coker can line up in all X, Y, and Z spots. At the very least they have some experience in doing so.

I am firmly in the TMAC or graham or trade back realm of what I would like to see happen.

All Hurney did was go bpa in the 1st. After that it was his gut.

Well it was incredibly successful. He was maybe the best first round draft GM in NFL history especially if Kuechly gets in the HOF. Jeff Otah and his injuries aside I’d argue his worst first round pick was Brian Burns and he may have been more of a Tepper pick forcing Ron Rivera to switch to the 3-4.

Back on the topic of the thread I have a feeling the Panthers are picking around 6 or 7. There’s a solid chance the Panthers win 1 or 2 more games. And they should pick the best player at any position. They need everything.

i wouldn't hate that scenario at all. and then throw in JT @ TE and you're set. add in chuba and the soon to be bionic brooks with 9 at QB with that beast OL in front of him.....

You take not only the BPA based on our respective big board, but the best day 1 starter available to us. The second part removes the QB's (who likely won't be available regardless assuming they go top three and we are drafting at 4-7, regardless panthers probably see Bryce as the future with his play improving) and OT's (since we just shelled out money to two OG, Icky playing better/no room to shift him inside)

Yes.. but that changes the metric of best player available.. you have to always take a look at your own roster and see where you need help. If aren't going to take a quarterback if you already have one, and If we are talking bpa at number 4 Jenty would be in that conversation but isn't brought up for obvious reasons.

They have to take an Oline guy in every draft if possible (or every other draft). Doesn't have to be a high pick, stockpile the best at the spot available. I will die on this hill. One of the most important positions on any team.

I am absolutely on board with that. just not first round.

I also said "our respective draft board". You're going by the media/consensus draft board. No telling whether jeanty will be that high on our board. Also, we can always talk BPA this, BPA that, but "need" is gonna find its way into the war room somehow. When a team has as many holes as we do, its gonna pop up. BPA is a luxury for teams that have less holes to fill. It is also dependent on what we do in FA.

I could care less what the ending record or draft spot is. Ill worry and bitch about that in the off-season. Just continue trending up. That's all i want.

We are saying the same thing to a degree. I love how feisty we are. Keep fighting show glimpses of the future.. But a win at this point only gets us further away from what we eventually want a super bowl.. there is a large drop off in this draft after the 5th pick.. you go from franchise altering player to a very good starter
