Not sure how being bottom 10 in passing justifies so much confidence..

Yeah the issue is your incessant need to sensationalize everything.  Why can't you just say you have higher standards for our QB, instead of "Bryce is on par with the guy who was just BENCHED against Tampa Bay for being so awful!!!" which was just a lie.

It's ironic that the broader conversation here is around people who just point to stats/box scores without actually watching the game or putting it in context of how Bryce actually looked on the field...and then you literally just did that egregiously for Aidan O'Connell lol.  You've perfectly exemplified why it's silly to make assumptions entirely from a box score.

Nothing changes the fact O'Connell is and has been a backup at best and he was playing poorly before the injury. Our first overall pick should be head and shoulders above him and Andy Dalton but as it stands his improvement puts him right there  sandwiched between the two of them. And clearly you can't handle that as only one of us here is furiously typing up angry rebuttals. And this is your second since 1 am. Maybe take a deep breath and stop creating perceived enemies all over the place here because they don't see eye to eye with you on every detail.

O'Connell's stat line for his four starts this season:

  • Team PPG: 14.5
  • Pass YPG: 180.5
  • TD-INT: 3-2
  • Passer RTG: 80.3
  • Sacks/Game: 2.5

That is a lot of bending over backwards taking place to try and justify the hatred for BY9. Aidan O'Connell? Come on now. 🙃

Imagine watching your 2nd year QB drive 99 yards trying to put together a game winning drive with multiple scrambles and 3rd down creative plays, only to have his #1 WR drop the potentially game winning TD on a gorgeous throw right on the money to not quite get there on the road against a SB contender.  Then waking up and deciding to start a thread about how we are all getting too excited - this is only the 3rd game in a row against 2 Superbowl contenders where this similar scenario played out.  Crazy world

Bryce was 108 yd. 1 TD 1 INT entering 4Q and we had the lead @ top NFC team .. this narrative that Bryce needs more help is pathetic ..

Our QB was doing next to nothing and we were leading @ PHI late .. testament to how strong the team is outside of QB

You might want to check how most QBs ultimately do vs Philly. They are a very good defense. Bryce had some clutch 3rd/4th down passes and tho he had his worst game recently he still had us a dropped pass away from winning.

I just don’t see the point in this. We’re not currently in position to draft another QB anyway so why waste time dooming and glooming when our QB has been showing progress

i think most are figuring this out. the rest will be dragging their heels all the way to the playoffs next year when bryce is lighting up everyone.

Bryce Young went from being one of the historically worst performing QBs in NFL history to being lauded by pundits across the country for his recent performance and going toe to toe with 2 of the best teams in the league. Now Joe Schmo wants to poo poo on Huddlers being excited for the future since Bryce isn't Josh Allen yet. You must really have a miserable life. I honestly feel sorry for you.

Nailed it.  He is nowhere near being on the list of why we lose.  He is more confident, he's making plays in structure and out of structure, he's stepping up in the pocket when he needs to, he's running when he needs to, he's creating and improvising with a bottom tier receiving core.  Has he been perfect?  Of course not, does he pass the eye test?  Definitely.   He has been one of the best players on the field on either team in our last few games.  Everyone that is determined to win the argument that he's bad are going to stand on the box score but if you watch the all 22 he has missed a few plays, but he has a lot more plays where he has made something out of nothing.  He's not missing much out there folks.  The biggest reason the passing numbers aren't bigger is because we are running a lot and if there is no receiver open to throw to then you're still counting that as a negative to Young if you're only looking at stats, and don't even get me started on the drops.
