Sure, but they will have to allocate a large chunk of their cap to Burrow/Chase.

Keeping Higgins will be difficult with their defensive troubles.

So they’re likely to lose one of their best offensive players, and will be paying full price soon for their QB & WR1 that have led them to a 4-8 record. Yuck

Agreed, their only hope is to find some gems in the draft

You paid your top receiver $33 million a year..

your second best receiver $25 million...

and your star QB another $50 million with a top 5 offensive line

and you had a 31st ranked passing attack this year

That is Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.  It's a good thing they can lean on running game and Barkley but the Panthers and our #9 Grim Reaper have exposed yet another team.  They'll be one and done in the playoffs.

I could only imagine the reactions here if that was Bryce with those weapons lol

Yeah I said the same thing yesterday in a couple other threads.  I was not impressed with the eagles, nor do I think us hanging with them was all that impressive.  they really aren't a very good team .

who do you think IS a good team, then...? They've beat the Ravens, trounced the Rams, beat the Commanders and Packers, destroyed the Bengals... They have the Steelers next week, so that's a test, but they are on a 9 game winning streak and are one of the best teams in the league IMO.

Their defense is really good, their rushing offense is like watching a video game, I dunno man. They're a good team. They've been really good. Hurts is their weakness.

edit: and he isn't a huge weakness. He is a player clearly being carried, but he's avoiding mistakes, and moving the ball often with his legs. He also can deliver in the red zone. So, while a weakness, he's still a good QB... Just maybe not as good as some thought.

Hurts is struggling big time.  And they are 10-2.    Clearly the coaches aren't even trusting Hurts to throw based on play calling and the way he is reading the field.

That's the most talented team in the NFL.

What game were you watching they trusted him by calling multiple pass plays he wasn’t trusting what he was seeing to actually turn it loose. He a couple of opportunities to rip with man coverage or even a semi open WR he just won’t rip it but they definitely called plenty of passes and seemed to trust him enough. It seems like he’s not trusting what he’s seeing and letting it rip.

We need less members of a clown show popping out to disregard or downplay the Panthers performance weekly.  Us hanging with them want impressive lol we literally should have won the game ESPN just had Xl on the screen like biggest drop off the weekend but you’re saying we just hung with them. They aren’t a good team dude be for real how’d they beat all those other good teams has me confused who is considered good to you because your grading scale seems highly skewed

Who is a good team we need to know because if the eagles with this roster aren’t considered good the team who’ll likely represent the NFC in the NFc championship game isn’t impressive a 9 game winning streak vs some of the teams you named dhit honestly it extremely hard to win 9 in a row vs any dam team let alone vs those teams listed.

Hurts is almost a cautionary story about buying in too much to a player, though.

I really liked Hurts coming out of college, and I was glad to see him succeed in the NFL.  He has a lot of great qualities as a player, but I think he's got a lower ceiling compared to the top end QBs in the NFL.

he had that big run, though.

Last three games, big QB runs were costly. Mahomes late run, Baker’s run in overtime to get them in winning FG range, and then Hurts. We gotta contain those bastards.

it's kind of hard to do that. but other teams are probably saying the same thing about what bryce has been doing, that it almost cost them games and they've got to try to catch the little squirt.

Exactly. I can hear d coordinators saying "the little mtfr will toast your ass if you aren't careful"

I have not witnessed qb play like that since Cam was here.

the two couldn't be more different in regards to physique and demeanor, but  bryce is giving me the same level of confidence and excitement cam did. i don't mean i'm excited to see bryce take off and take on LBs head on or anything like that and Bryce doesn't have ability to pump the crowds up the way cam did, but what i'm seeing on the field is giving me the same hope.

this is what i was hoping for when we drafted him. it took a while and some priming the pump to get it going, but it finally got going.

He's showing that he has that gene in him. Let's hope he can keep building on that and the team doesn't waste it this time if he does.

I still like how they are relying on the ground game and strong defense but it seemed they were trying to put the game more on Hurts hands yesterday. Not sure if I want to do that come playoffs.

How about the Bengals?

AVG:
Burrow: 55 million

Higgins: 21 million

Chase: 21 mil next year then likely 35+

4-8 record. That has to be depressing for their fans.

Being in the same division as the Steelers and Ravens definitely doesn't help. Bengals may be a cautionary tale on how if you have a great QB under a rookie contract, that may be your best window for a SB run. It gets way harder once you dole out the money and you have to make sacrifices elsewhere as a result.
