Pat Yasinskas Mock Pick for Panthers is...

Dpantherman

Recommended Posts

Mark my words the Panthers will trade up with next year's first rounder to take a wide-reciever, then they will take a d-end or d-tackle (whichever talent is best available) with the second pick.

Fox and Hurney need to win now.

They want to get younger and better.

This draft has a lot of good talent in the second round.

Therefore they will trade up.

*My only concern is that we get a wide-reciever that can contribute immediately. (I know I know rookie wide-outs have a bad history, but quite frankly we don't have any other options)

I agree with Chandler from this morning.

I do think we move up using next year's one. But, it will be for a DE.

Then, take a WR with the #48 pick.

I just don't see DT being first priority in this draft. We already made moves to bring in Tank and Leonard.

This... and Ed Johnson, and we just spent a 3rd rounder on a DT everyone has forgotten...
i would like to bring in at least one more DT. if brian price is available we take him.

there isn't any big deal with bringing in more DTs. you better believe there will be more than that going into training camp. we still have another 25+ spots to fill to get up to the 83. taking a DT if it happens to be the BPA wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

i don't feel horrible about the DT situation as it stands but i would like to have a bit stouter competition for the 53 man roster. the game is won and lost in the trenches and we need to be spending a lot more energy trying to get the Dline up to the level of the Oline.

Pat, Y do you suck? Anyway, I don't see us taking a DT first pick UNLESS Fox or Hurney feel this guy would be an IMMEDIATE Game-changer. We have lost some depth at LB and need help at WR. It just all depends who remains on the board at this time. Honestly, I do not see the Panthers making the #48 overall pick anyway.

Excellent point, it really depends on who falls.... say a Brandon Graham falls out of the first round... obviously the Panthers would be interested in pursuing him, but if someone like Golden Tate does.... (I think the best talent available becomes key again) But either way the Panthers will trade up this year... Guarantee it

Corvey Irvin is 6'3'' 300lbs. Why the hell would we take a DT with our first pick??? It makes NO SENSE to me it would be like taking the exact same player as last year again this year. Take a damn position where we need to fill the hole. Don't spend the pick on a guy that is going to play 8 snaps a game. If they do this I will be pissed...

leonard - 6th round trade

brown - 2nd round (gave up a first)

tyler - 5th round trade

charles brown - 3rd round choice

irvin - 3rd round choice

Oline:

gross - first round

otah - first round

kalil - 2nd round

wharton - 3rd round

RG - 5th round (mac)

definitely invested more high picks in the oline at the moment.
