"Blah blah blah Morgan got the wrong pick"

Hey fat guys, if you all were so brilliant you would be GM's but you don't seem to yell as hard and scream as loud when you are wrong about something as you do when you are correct. Everytime something happens there are fifty fat guys that run here to say "Told ya so". A clock is right twice per day. If Morgan needs advice on pie eating contests or banging subpar looking women I'm sure he will give you a call.

Dude. You seem a little triggered here. Sadly the fan base has been right more often than not over the past 6 years about major decisions the Panthers FO has made.

You don't necessarily have to look at the player, you have to look at the tendencies of the front office. Players with high RAS scores that need a lot of development in early rounds. Development isn't something we've really excelled at. Paying big FA contracts for guys that were not good.

JMO, but I think we've reading the flow of the drafts poorly and drafted out of panic several times and been at the tail end of runs instead of the beginning. I also think we've built the team poorly by constantly "retooling" instead of just embracing a rebuild. We've paid positions in FA we should have been drafting, and trying to fill key spots with draft picks because we have no other option from bad contracts.

Bryce is not the QB I wanted. I still think we overpaid. I wanted AR with the right coach, but that wasn't Frank, so my then my default was Stroud. We started him when he had no business starting, which was made obvious in Seattle, and then doubled down the rest of the season to prolonged failure. Then this off-season he was handed the keys with no competition for a performance that was cut worthy except for his draft position. The last 3 games haven't proven anything to me yet. Even mediocre QBs have had short stretches of good games. We're going to need season 3 to see if he can pull it all together and season 4 to make sure he's not Daniel Jones before offering a massive contract off a single good year. We've had enough bad contracts for 1 year wonders.

I don't like how this team has been operating and the path they've taken to build. We're not replicating what successful teams do. The Tepper way hasn't worked for the past 6 years and there's been zero sustained success in franchise history. It's hard to criticize fans for being pessimistic or critical about the way things are done when they've never seen 9 wins back to back years in 3 decades.

Like you would think that those same people would be happy that he's heading to IR as it reduces the chance of us winning games while brining a talented player back next year..

We can only hope so.  2 consecutive ACL tears really puts a damper on that.

He was tied for seventh in the league in drops before today (on the second-fewest targets). He's better suited for being a kick returner and the fact that whenever he drops the kickoff it'll likely just be a touchback. That said, yeah, there's some hyperbole in there.

He was 11th according to what I was told earlier, but, yeah, that's hardly historic. That being said, his hands have been a huge disappointment. If he can't figure that out, then a Cordarelle Patterson type of career may be in his future.

as long as he is getting open I think you can work with his drops.  Its not really a mingo level type situation IMO

Didn’t Thomas Davis tear his ACL/MCL like 3 times early on in his Panthers career? And he overcame his injuries and had a great career!! Hopefully Brooks can do the same!! Minus having more injuries!!Fingers crossed 🤞

LBs don't have to make the same hard cuts and change of directions RBs do.

But hoping for the best but non contact injurys tend to be a very bad sign ...

    • This is why it's probably going to be hard to trade down. This draft is fairly light on top tier talent but pretty deep in talent of that next tier down. I don't think there's going to be a lot of teams clamoring to move up and numerous teams might be entertaining moving down. Not a good market to trade down if that's the case.
    • And if they can't find a reasonable trade down (I think we would need a 2nd rounder this year bare minimum to make any trade down worth it). I would definitely expect Dan to trade UP for an EDGE or LB in the top half of R2. Just makes too much sense. We also have a plethora of mid round picks to use as ammo.
    • I don't mean to make this a mock draft thread particularly,  but every time I do a mock I have been investigating the talent that goes off the board between picks 8 and our low 2nd rounder pick 57. There is a gargantuan amount of talent still left on the board in the top half of the 2nd round every time I do one. Losing our original 2nd round pick to the Bears as the last pick of the Bryce trade stings badly .  I'm particularly looking at elite players like Carson Schwesinger (LB), Luther Burden (WR), Matthew Golden (WR), Maxwell Hairston (CB) , Nick Scourton , Landon Jackson, Donavan Ezeraku (all DEs/OLBs) . The sweet spot in this draft really feels like pick 15 to 40 - ish. This is why the Bears should be making bank with this draft. I don't know how realistic a trade down is from 8, but if we could pick up any teams higher 2nd rounder and still grab their 1st? We'd be cooking with gas man.  Say for example we get Tet McMillan at pick 8, if you wait all the way to 57 you stand the chance of not getting any impact pass rushers in this draft. And I don't think this team can afford that.  I'd personally love for them to take a break from drafting wrs in R1 or R2 (i think we've taken one in the top 2 rounds in the majority of the past few years), and stick to repairing the nfls worse defense in history (in terms of total points against iirc, or was it yards? Also included my most recent mock as an example . Don't put too much into the  late round selections lol
