Film breakdown of Jonathan Brooks. We might have a star

This is a young man’s film breakdown on his podcast (Panthers Advice) of a few plays of Brooks that should make us feel pretty good

just a couple of mins long   He is done  a couple of really good ones on Youmgm

I’ve shared this young guy’s breakdowns before….now, he is far from polished in delivery but his analysis is good and always seems fresh and different than the other podcasters

May be a wee bit early on this. I thought he looked quick at times but one run he tried to go through David and it didn’t work. The second guy he made miss on the catch was Vea, a huge DT way down field.

I hope he is that guy but 8 for 25 isn’t screaming anything. Every RB who’s even decent has some highlight moves. Heck, there are 5 RBs taken in the 4th or later with 300-1000+ total yards and Guerrendo is about to be the 6th. Brooks needs to be the Gibbs to China’s Montgomery to make his pick worth it.

A lot of people wondered why we picked him.  It was never about this year.  Kid was dynamite at Texas.

Stash him in Dynasty if you can... draft him in rounds 4/5 in your home league FF redrafts next year.  Profit.

The bolded is what’s wrong with taking him. The 2025 RB class is loaded and as you can see with my post above, there were several RBs who’ve looked good that were taken 2+ round after Brooks.

I think we thought Brooks was going to be this year. There was a ton of talk about him being ready at the end of training camp/early season. Chuba and the OL have been pleasant surprises and now Brooks is sharing the position for maybe 4 years.

Maybe he’ll be all world, but I still think Frazier at C at that pick would have been the best move and take a RB in the 3rd/4th of this draft or even better 2025. Chuba was a 4th as well.

Again, I would love nothing more than having an elite Barkley like RB on the team. I’m not going to crown anyone after 8 carries for 25 yards behind an OL that has Chuba at 900+ yards and 4.9ypc in 12 games.

Thatd be great for them share the position for four years.  You need 2 back in the modern NFL.  We got a stud prospect (that prob woulda been a rd 1 pick if not for injury) on a rookie deal with the best oline we've had in years.  Its a great combo moving forward.  Now they can go D heavy in the draft.

Just to be clear - Im not into crowning anyone as anything on this team (cept JJ Jansen cause hes the GOAT LS) - Brooks is just an exciting prospect.

Only thing that kinda sucks is I'm left wondering what he could do if he got the lions share of the carries.

I try to think of it this way, if one of them go down to injury we still have a very good rb to pick up the slack.

Chubba has a contract lasting until the 2029 season where he'd be 30 . Brooks contract goes til the 2028 season where he'd be 25.

So their contracts expire around the same time.  I wouldn't be surprised if Chubbas contract is arranged in a way that they can get off it in halfway through it. Maybe this is their long term plan.

I feel pretty confident that was the long term plan. This will be Chuba’s only medium size contract, and once he’s 30 if Brooks is worth it we’ll resign Brooks to a decent contract and draft another. Rinse and repeat.

I didn’t take the video as prematurely ‘crown’ anyone

I took it as a reason to be excited about the tools displayed by a young draft pick

..a Panthers drafted player

there are runners and there are runners…those who can run, block, catch and cut at al elite level is a bit different

i wanted Frazier too, they didn’t pick him. Ship sailed

…a lot of ships have sailed for the Panthers   We are were we are
