Cam could laser a ball in, but couldn’t thrown with anticipation.

Bryce is the opposite.

Almost the complete opposite in a lot of ways.

After seeing a monster at QB for so many years its weird to see a guy with the shoulder width of my 11 year old son.

BUT BY is ballin out - so lets GOOOOOOO

Cam also used to own the stat of throwing into the tightest coverage. We can’t seem to synch WRs in their prime with a QB in their prime.

Or a decent oline….

Or a good defense…

Or the running game…

Or a solid kicker…

it’s just been a cluster fug syncing due to very poor drafting

the wr position has been a problem for a while now, hell it might be the worst position ever. Have we had a true 1 outside of smitty in almost 30 years?

Cam could definitely do it, just not consistently. His default was to throw smoke but when he did put touch on it, it could be a sight to behold.

Hell, its a positive start. He is looking to be more aggressive than he ever has in the past regardless of WR's getting separation or not. Bryce does look more aggressive lately which gives him more of a chance to look better. Hopefully this continues with him and some of us who had all but given up on him may change our tune.

According to Next Gen Stats, Young leads the NFL in Aggressiveness (AGG%), a metric that tracks how often a quarterback throws into tight coverage. Meanwhile, Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes sits at the opposite end of the spectrum, ranking as the least aggressive quarterback this season.

yeah, I think that's just KC's scheme and WR/TEs causes people to get open.  Carolina doesn't see that.   Kelce gets wide open.  Theilen doesn't.

So a lot of Bryce Young's "aggressiveness"is seen on a lot of the short nickel and dime throws.

Probably says more about our WRs not being able to separate than it does Bryce Young actually being aggressive.

I watch any other team in the NFL and I'm just flabbergasted just how wide open their receivers look compared to ours. In fact, the only time in recent memory when it wasn't like this was when we had Joe Brady as our OC.

Canales can get guys open at times but it's more Bryce being aggressive via throwing into windows earlier than a lot of QBs in this league. There's benefits to this such as defenders having less time to react to bat it down or pick it off but also drawbacks in that our guys has less time to get ready to catch the ball. Possibly why drops is an issue.

Don't take this as bashing Cam but I appreciate that BY can hit guys in stride.

Cam was the best QB we ever had... but his accuracy and touch let a lot to be desired.

Cam had an absolute rocket launcher for an arm and guys like that tend to just see an opening and believe they can just rifle the ball there fast enough. Delhomme was similar in that vein. Cam was trying to work with his accuracy later in his career and there were improvements although his shoulder injury ultimately derailed his efforts.

Bryce is the opposite.

Not small but extreme differences in size, arm, personality, speed, ball placement.

Never really thought about it but Bryce is the exact opposite of Cam lol.

Cam pre injury was damn near breaking fingers when he threw.

I'm almost sold on Bryce. Im just waiting on the one game this year that he throws atleast 3 TD's for my final confirmation...+ I wanna see how he reacts after an INT this time around.

Some of this is down to the scheme. The KC offense is 75% easy throws, screens, quick throws, etc.

I feel like Dave Canales runs a naturally more aggressive offense in general that asks the QB to make more tight-window throws. To be honest the Chiefs WR corp is better than ours, but probably not by as much as you'd think.

Before DJ Moore, it's slim but I'd still have to go TE .. Ian Thomas has been our starter the last half decade. But then again, we had Shockey and Olsen at one point.
