He's definitely been moving the ball more which is good to see. Now let's find out if he and this offense can take a step forward against an opponent like the Eagles.

The offense is what it is this year. We need to add more talent for Bryce to distribute too for us to see better numbers. That or our players start catching everything and start getting open easier

And then I read this you’re sounding wilder each response but if….did you say but if…but if I didn’t miss my parla by one this weekend I would have made 10k off 100 dollars what does that even mean?? But If Bryce had solid protection to start his career he’d be playing like a top 10-12 QB this year. But If he had better weapons right now we’d be talking about 350 yards and 3 tds a game. But you or no one in the world can but if….. but if I didn’t cash out my bitcoin 4 years ago I’d be a millionaire today how dumb do I sound lol let’s not be silly I’m trying to have a half decent conversation about football with real deal fans and you’re hollering BUT IF…. Man knock it off you can say any dam thing with BUT IF like umm….but if the referee called Cotchery catch correctly we win the superbowl lol how do I sound doing your BUT IF…..

Okay....imma entertain you a lil bit since you seem to be asking for it. First off, you try comprehending a statement before responding with all that gibberish you just said. Secondly, we are not just talking about a random "what if" here in a game situation and your bitcoin l care nothin about. Bryce HAD SOLID PROTECTION AND RECEIVERS the first 2 games and he still performed WAY BELOW even normal standards for a QB...HE LOOKED THAT BAD. So WTF are you talking about with protection and weapons???? IT WASNT AN EXCUSE... and everybody except you clearly saw that. Last year wasn't even relevant at that time. body language, mood everything was off to start the season. He had no business on the field and Canales did the best thing he can do with only 2 games played. The odds that he would have somehow just turned it around were extremely low and would have continued a downward spiral if he stayed a starter. Even the locker room could see it. SO ONCE AGAIN, we're not talking about some random WHAT IF, and if instead of just focusing on that why don't YOU tell us what would have happen if he had of remained in the lineup to play for guy who showed no consistency at all last year. Go ahead I will wait.

Maybe so. But we're going to need more than 2 games to declare him the next great one and not the next Kyle Allen.

It's weird to say this, but Kyle Allen never had Bryce's deep ball... At least not when Allen was a Panther

Kyle Allen, 55 yards through the air. Looks just like a Bryce ball.

With respect to the OP, my mom died on the 24th and I haven't seen any of the Chiefs or Bucs game outside of a highlight or two. Sounds like Bryce has been playing better, so good for him, but if this is one of those '20 yard deep ball' stats then meh. My position has always been that his ceiling is Teddy Bridgewater or Alex Smith 2.0 and that is not good enough in today's NFL, so I'll try to watch an upcoming game to see what's up. If Bryce gets beyond that then everybody wins.

That said, at the start of the year my definition of success was a team and staff that steadily improves throughout the year and competes with good teams. Don't necessarily care about wins per se though they are nice, but there does appear to be improvement in recent weeks. Hopefully the consistency comes through.

Kyle Allen's biggest weakness was he sucked downfield more often than not, and basically lived along the los. Check some of his passing charts. He had a couple bombs and basically everything else was at the LoS.

E.g.:

Nowadays a third to half of Bryce's passes are 10+ yards, tho he has few over 20 usually.

We can add a few more pieces to the offense but this defense needs to be rebuilt. At some point you have to expect your first overall pick to maximize what you've given him and give you your return on the investment.

I mean, the consensus narrative was that Bryce specifically was too physically limited to succeed.  But what you just described with a QB sucking, mood/body language being off, getting benched, then coming back and playing much better suggests the exact opposite...that his problem was mental.  Unless you think he just worked out a ton and ate his Wheaties during that 5-week benching.  I'm definitely encouraged but still nowhere near sold on Bryce, but I think he's proven that his arm is at least "good enough" which is such a timid position that y'all would regularly "LOLOLOL" at someone saying for the last year and a half.

As Panthers fans, we should all be excited that our 1st overall QB seems to be trending upwards.  Instead, y'all are giddy and circle-jerking about Aidan O'Connell putting up more yards against the Chiefs than Bryce...as if that takes anything away from his actual performance, unless you're literally just comparing box scores which is the epitome of "casual fan" analysis.  You pride yourselves on being "realists", but refuse to acknowledge the reality of Bryce playing well lately, and instead do everything in your power to at least downplay or outright dismiss anything positive from him.  I respect someone like @*FreeFua* who was among Bryce's most vocal critics earlier this year, but isn't shy about giving Bryce his props lately.  The rest of you chirp chirp chirp in the gameday threads when Bryce makes a poor throw, but you've apparently lost your tongues after he throws a dime.  Maybe it's just that good that it rendered you speechless.

Im really sorry to hear that bro.   Has to be a tough time for you and your family.  Dont forget to eat and sleep.  I know seems dumb but we neglect ourselves when we mourn which often just makes it worse.  Take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Pick one.

"Duh...pick one" so let me get this straight...worst rookie season arguably of all time, only 2 wins out of 16 starts and abysmal stat lines. We spent all draft picks, FA money, let good players walk, fired an entire coaching staff after one season, and still had to bench this kid after 2 games this season just to get a 5 game SAMPLE SIZE of what he COULD BE in the future after almost 2 seasons in the league AND YOU WANT CROW NOW?.....I would say kick rocks but that may be way to harsh so imma just say relax and keep watching his progression. I totally understand a lot of yall been waiting to blow off steam all this  time because Bryce wasnt backing up the hype you put on him and you had the hear the criticism for almost 2 years but from a morale ground standpoint this doesn't look good parading now. Most of us sat and watched him be a disappointment an entire season plus 2 more games eitj improvements  around him and had no idea if the guy even belonged on the field including the coaches.... so 5 games isn't gonna make me change my tune that fast. You would think you would understand that but we all know how emotion works in sports. Thats on you to figure that out tho. My opinion still stands for now. Hope that helps you out.

The majority of the huddle was all but ready to turn the page after the conclusion of his rookie season. It's not hyperbole to say in several key statistics he had one of the worst rookie seasons in many years. That's why even looking like a competent starting QB is being met with near parades around these parts.

But the people who are looking to talk down to others are definitely forgetting this franchises past with the QB position if they are getting too invested in only the last 4 games.

Even a guy like Baker Mayfield who people around the NFL had said finally turned the corner looked like dogshit against our defense and has now fallen off again.

Show me where I haven't given him his props for playing better? Do you UNDERSTAND how bad he was to start the year? So anything that isn't absolutely horrible was an improvement for bryce....do you get that? Far as throwing dimes yeah the reactions are different but also just maybe.....WE SHOULD BE USE TO IT BY NOW and not still waiting till the back half of YEAR 2. You ever think maybe some folks feel that way? Aidan O connel performance doesn't take away but WE didn't start the circle jerk comparisons of the teams we play and where there ranked against whoever the qb was starting here. When dalton stepped in last year and threw 300 yards and 3 tds against Seattle all we heard was how trash Seattle defense was. He steps in this year and does it again against the Raiders and the bengals but those teams defenses are also trash according to some of you so it doesn't matter. Therefore, you can't blame people for applying that same logic to bryce and if another qb performs even better against that same team. If the roster is so weak no qb should be having good games and if bryce is the best qb on the roster then he should be putting up the better games no matter who we play.

Once again,  I have acknowledged his improvement but let's not try to sit here act like demanding crow, apologies, and retractions is somehow the same thing. It's still to early for that and nothing but built up emotion.
