This is the kind of loss you want….

I gotta think defense. O-Line looks good. Could probably shore it up. We have enough offensive skills position weapons. Again, could probably benefit from a game changer.

The Defense lacks talent top to bottom. I wouldn't hate an all defensive draft.

I think that would be a great idea also

We also learned that Eddie Pinero does not have that clutch gene. After that first miss he kept drifting the ball to the left, which says the miss stayed in his head. I've been waiting for a game to see if Eddie can win us games because I do not remember a time when he has really been tested. Can allow one miss in a game, but lets be honest, kicking cost us this one.

Main conundrum is, well, the pool of capable kickers out there is quite limited in many respects. Kickers that were consistent last year - Jake Elliott, Younghoe Koe, and even longtime great Justin Tucker - are having horrid seasons.

As much as I wish Pineiro had a better leg so that long FGs are he frankly is probably still one of the best this year even after the yips. Not much out there that'd significantly improve over Eddy I'm afraid with how terrible kicking has been league wide these recent weeks.

What are you talking about?? Have you missed all the game winners he's made? Lol yes he had a bad game today but to say he doesn't have "that clutch gene" is CRAZY

I was at the game and just an FYI, he wasn’t drifting the ball left. We were on the left hash mark on both misses and you can see a straight line down the hash marks is just left or right of the goal posts. He hit both straight as an arrow but on the left hash mark that’s a miss just left of the goal post. He needed to push those a little right rather than kick them dead straight. Regardless, he knows how to kick those correctly so he messed up.

Drift, shank, pull, choke... what's the difference? Field goal kickers make damn good money compared to what we make. Can we agree on that? Do your job! The one job you have, I mean serious, how hard is training camp for a kicker? Eddie signed a two year 4.1 million dollar contract with 2.2 million guaranteed... these games are WHY we pay them MILLIONS! I'm sorry, I do not have a lot of forgiveness for kickers. There is a reason the Tuckers and Kasays last so long.

If he can't make the so called gimmys you need to let him walk because he definitely can't nail the 50 plus yarders

Here's our reality.

We don't have a home run hitter WR except maybe Coker.  However, we have some good WRs who are catching more than they're dropping and they're able to get something after the catch.

We have a great RB tandem it looks like. Brooks is already showing great signs. Hubbard is that dude, bad fumble not withstanding (more on that in a sec).

OL is solid. If there's a surefire improvement to be had you take it, but it must be guaranteed improvement and that's rare.

Defense is atrocious. Can't stop the run, can only stop the pass when the pressure gets there and we lack the talent to be feared in pass rushing.

You run the draft straight defense. You fix this fuging defense. Do that, have Bryce continue his improvement, develop our talent around him, this is a playoff bubble team next season, playoff contender as soon as the season after.

We're that close.

On the Hubbard fumble, him staying on the sidelines after everybody left says a lot. This team wants it. It matters to core members. There is a hunger. We've lacked that hunger for a couple years at least. It's back.

    • How about this. We'll revisit this discussion after the Eagles game. Deal? If Bryce lights them up as the current #1 defense I'll happily eat crow and become a believer.
    • I'm no sports psychologist but it does seem like he got through a serious mental block. Someone mentioned above that Thielen alluded to Bryce feeling like he needed to be perfect every play. That feels accurate. Just from watching, it feels like Bryce 1.0 was playing to not mess up (which is the #1 way to make mess up!) instead of just playing the game. Silly as it may seem, watching him dance after running one in yesterday led me to believe Bryce 2.0 is a thing and a legitimate one at that. In the past, it seemed like he felt the need to remain stoic at all times, which is cool if it's your personality but probably is a pretty uncomfortable facade to keep up. Looking back and seeing the way he showed emotion at Bama, that stoic guy isn't him. He's playing the game again, smiling and having fun. Credit to him because having to take a step back like he did could have been a fatal blow for the confidence. I just want to continue to see progress week to week. It won't necessarily be linear but that's OK. He's breaking through blocks and barriers we weren't sure were possible a few weeks ago. Who knows where that trajectory takes him?
    • Stopped reading after the first sentence. I said he did a near 180 from earlier and your first sentence rewrites my words. Grasping at technicalities of general statements.
