The fact that you put any CB as the #1 overall prospect is just laughable

That you compound the issue by not even putting the best CB in the draft in that spot just makes it worse.

You do realize that Hunter literally isn't even a finalist for the Thorpe award that is given to the best DB in the nation, right?

I would bet every dollar I have that Johnson will have a better career than Hunter and that T-Mac will end up better than both of them.

You need help my friend.

Hunter is the #1 rated prospect, and it hurts you to the core lol. You beefing with me because I agree with the people who rate these guys. As if the play on the field doesn't speak for itself.

Get well bro you in a deep place right now and I can't help you any longer. Stay strong!

This is just a classic example of falling for the media hype and/or not seeing the difference between being a generational collegiate talent and actual translation to the NFL.

Yes, Hunter is completely unique and there's never been anyone quite like him in college.

But at the same time, he's literally not even the best WR or CB in the draft, that's T-Mac and Will Johnson.

Just because someone is generational in college, it doesn't mean they are the best possible NFL prospect at any given position, they're two entirely different things.  Yes, Hunter is a true elite CB prospect and a very very good WR prospect, but individually he's not even the best at either position and he's not going to be a full time 2 way player in the NFL either.

Let someone else deal with the headache that will follow him, he's not even on my draft board, if it was him or trade the pick for someone else to get stuck with dealing with him, I'm trading that pick 100 times out of 100, even if it's just moving back 1 spot and adding a future 7th rounder to do so.

media hype? What kind of nonsense is this .. guy was the number 1 overall player in the nation coming out of highschool.. if you look on any big board he's the number 1 wr and number 1 corner. Yes what headache is he? He hasn't caused any problems to pass on hunter for anyone not a quarterback is ridiculous.

He hasn't caused any problems because Deion acts like he's another son of his and let's him do things that no other player in the country could get away with.  If he was at any other school, he'd be just as good but he'd probably have a serious diva label on him, it's just ignored because the whole program is like that in Colorado.

Deion catches him "stealing" shoes form his personal locker room and finds it hilarious and posts the video online for the world to see.  He goes on podcasts during the season complaining that he's not the Heisman favorite, on his bye week he flys across the country to campaign for himself on the morning shows in person.

You don't see that kind of stuff and see red flags for him when he's in the NFL and the HC isn't a man child surrogate father figure to him?

He's also continuously said he expects to play both ways full time in the NFL, which if any team lets him do it, they're dumb and he's going to get hurt and/or struggle.  Then if/when they don't and the team is struggling to score while he gets 5 gadget snaps a game, you think he's going to react well to that?

Him and Shedeur have the biggest red flags for a first rounder since Manziel from that diva mentality standpoint, I'm not using a Top 5 pick on a CB that comes with that big of a risk when Johnson is an equal if not better prospect (and I've touched many times on never taking him over T-Mac as a WR either).

And I've seen plenty of the "experts" who don't have him as the #1 prospect anyways.  Many who do also talk about him as an "athlete" and that he'll be a CB who gets plenty of WR snaps as well, which again, I don't think is going to happen.

The kid is an elite talent, it's why he was the #1 player in HS too, but at this point, he's just not the best WR and I don't think he's the best CB either (I do think he's 2nd).

His past doesn't matter anymore.  If you're taking a CB #1 overall or as the first non QB off the board, they have to be a STUD lockdown corner who might not even get many INTs because teams just won't throw that way, kinda like Revis or Asomugha at their peaks.

That's not Hunter.

I've likened him to Trevon Diggs, someone who is one of the better CBs in the league because he has the ability to lock his man down at times and makes a lot of great plays.  But those great plays are because their game is predicated on taking risks, which in the NFL leads to giving up a lot of big plays as well.

That's Hunter.

If Hunter didn't take a snap on the offensive side of the ball, he'd be a great prospect and talked about as a Top 10 pick based on team needs for a CB.  But he wouldn't be the #1 ranked prospect, he wouldn't be talked about as the first non QB to be taken.  I don't see the few snaps you're going to give him a game on offense being worth jumping over better actual prospects at their positions while taking on the risks that come with him and the whole Deion world.

That's what I mean by falling for the media hype, because I feel like the legend of Hunter has outgrown the real life NFL prospects Hunter.

We need a strong DT or DE.  Compliment Brown or replace him if needed.  The line needs work because stopping the run is our biggest weakness right now. Then LB, DB, C, TE.  If we can get any one of those in FA, then we look at WR or S.

    • I understand the hesitancy. The one reason I'm hopeful is Bryce's biggest improvements have been on deep routes that are very hard to defend and demonstrate a high level of play. A lot of Teddy and Allen's 'high level' play was right at the LoS. But it's only been a few games like you say. We shall see. The good thing is we have a number of games left to evaluate him.
    • Show me where I haven't given him his props for playing better? Do you UNDERSTAND how bad he was to start the year? So anything that isn't absolutely horrible was an improvement for bryce....do you get that? Far as throwing dimes yeah the reactions are different but also just maybe.....WE SHOULD BE USE TO IT BY NOW and not still waiting till the back half of YEAR 2. You ever think maybe some folks feel that way? Aidan O connel performance doesn't take away but WE didn't start the circle jerk comparisons of the teams we play and where there ranked against whoever the qb was starting here. When dalton stepped in last year and threw 300 yards and 3 tds against Seattle all we heard was how trash Seattle defense was. He steps in this year and does it again against the Raiders and the bengals but those teams defenses are also trash according to some of you so it doesn't matter. Therefore, you can't blame people for applying that same logic to bryce and if another qb performs even better against that same team. If the roster is so weak no qb should be having good games and if bryce is the best qb on the roster then he should be putting up the better games no matter who we play.  Once again,  I have acknowledged his improvement but let's not try to sit here act like demanding crow, apologies, and retractions is somehow the same thing. It's still to early for that and nothing but built up emotion.
    • If you include Week 8, he drops to 13th in offensive grade and 11th in passing grade.   Still pretty solid.
