What Are Your Top Offseason Targets Now That Bryce Young Is Showing Promise?

It's legit wild people are saying #1 WR before anything else after the entire reason for trading up and drafting Bryce at #1 was not needing to surround him with elite talent. We've already spent 150 million in FA just to put two massive linemen in front of him. What more does this kid need? Build up the defense and if Bryce still can't consistently lead this offense to points you draft another QB in 26'.

If our run defense completely collapses because you lose one single player, then that is a huge problem.

Need bodies on defense, especially up front. Need speedy shifty targets on offense but history has shown you don't need to use high draft picks to get them.

I said in general our defense needs talent added. But, when you lose 15% of the front 7 and it happens to be your best player on the defense/team… ya, it’s going to have a clear impact on results. Even more so when the comment was run defense and that starts with having a beast like DB.

It’s a strong projected class of interior defenders so would definitely draft one to pair up with DB.

cornerbacks will also be plenty so need to draft one either in first or second round.

Wide receiver draft class js weaker than last year, I wouldn’t mind singing a free agent like Higgins

Players that don't constantly drop the ball

You need to give Bryce his guy, his A.J. Brown, his Diggs, his Nico, and a field stretcher. We need to get faster outside

If Coker, Sanders, and Legette can keep developing I hope we could get by with someone like Slayton and use our early picks on defense.

Unless you're willing to give up another haul of capital I do not envision us acquiring a "#1 WR" that will realistically be available that would fit the standards some of you seek. IE continually bail out Bryce no matter how good or bad his throws are and singlehandedly win games for us.

    • Yeah I think they are wanting to let XL and Coker develop, but I don't see nothing wrong with a speed guy on day 2
    • Finding that dance partner will be difficult and who's to say the team trading up has not offer a package to 5th, 6th, 7th??? They did and were turned down most likely.    I still feel 8th is the hot spot for OT run. If you want the best OT/OL in the draft, 8th is the way.    *But Ive been reading lots of Jets and others having Membou as their pick. Banks and Campbell are right there in great value terms. The whole deal is that pick for the Panthers, they are not looking to spend a top resource on OL, 31 other teams are.    I've also been seeing sanders falling out of the top ten, I just have a hard time buying that. ALso seen dart being drafted in the top ten. FYI last year NO ONE had a 1st round grade on Bo Nix and many thought Michael Penix Jr. was at best late 1st early 2nd. I laugh hard at the failcons drafting Penix at 8th, but I stopped laughing during that week 18 game.... he looked legit......barf....  So... one team could easily trade up for sanders or dart or begin the OL run or Jeanty causes a stir as he falls.  There are legit options, Brandt and Dan get paid for this...
    • I'm with you.  Even an extra 3rd would help.  None of the players you listed are elite though.  Sadly there are very few of those in this draft, but there are a lot of good players in the late first and into the second. We need to realize that we can't get all our needs in this year's draft.  We know we need some sort of edge, a safety, and I feel we need to use one of first 4 picks on a CB, preferably 3rd at latest.  And I want to draft an OT in 3rd to learn behind Moton this year. The extra 2nd would be huge.  2 things Bear Hands has noted in other threads, we can get a rusher in the mid rounds of the first, and if a good LT is available at our pick we should be able to get a deal. I'm ok.  If the media takes are close, trading back to around 15 should get us a second, and since our second is near the end of that round, getting one earlier opens up a whole lot of opportunities.  Either way, Canales builds his infrastructure with this draft.  Next year, with all our picks and probably picking somewhere between 10 and 15, we can get real stars.   All of this depends on hitting on picks this year.
