I thought your answer held unreasonable expectations, so I questioned it. I guess all those QBs stunk against the Eagles since they didn't meet your threshold.

I can say that my threshold for a successful franchise QB is 5,000 yards passing and get on my high horse and scoff at anyone saying it's unrealistic because they just have too low standards but that's not very productive is it?

No sir. You both asked the question knowing either way you would get a response you could pounce on so you could get on your own high horse and accuse bias which you immediately did.

None of us here are required to have the same opinion or expectation of Bryce Young.

His passing output has been consistently so comically low that even 250 yards has become a rare praise worthy event.

Finally he throws for 298 yards yesterday and now you say me asking for 300 passing yards from him in one single game against a better opponent is akin to asking for him to throw for 5000 yards in a season (silly comparison at best).  Yet you accuse me of not seeking productive conversation? Sure.

@travisura

You ask a question. You get an answer. And immediately start flailing about how it's an unreasonable demand from a first overall pick that you both are saying is playing at a high level now.

Jordan Love

Kirk Cousins

Joe Burrow

Jaden Daniels

Matthew Stafford

Lamar Jackson

All these guys have played at a high level throughout multiple starts over the course of their career save Daniels who is a rookie but has largely played spectacularly.

If you want low standards for Bryce Young just say that and we will agree to disagree. But if this kid is ever going to become a franchise QB it isn't going to happen if you expect him to stink against teams like the Eagles.

Wouldn't 300 yards and 2 TDs passing be considered "lighting it up" vs. the Eagles?

I take "lighting it up" to be an exceptional performance, not just NFL standard play. Don't you?

Agreed which is why I mentioned it and framed it as being certainly an eat crow moment for a lot of people myself included. I'd love to see him shock the league like that. I think the direction the conversation went immediately after is a prime example of how the topic of Bryce Young in general has become so bitter and contentious. The fanbase is split between people who want to see him look like a first overall pick over the course of multiple starts and not just against inferior defenses and people who apparently have low expectations and are just fine with him not looking horrific. But that's not how the NFL works and that's not why we drafted him.

Philly's defense is great and they run the ball a lot and control the TOP (and they certainly will vs us - this is a big mismatch), so even if Bryce is at his best, I doubt he would have a chance to crack 300 passing yards.  Be damn impressive if he does though, but it all just depends on volume, efficiency, and most importantly... not turning the ball over.
