Well look let's be completely honest with one another. You and I both know Eddie isn't it and that "most accurate" label being thrown around was a facade waiting to be blown to bits.

Yes, but still it’s expected that 30-39 he is automatic. Guess he just got the yips from the first miss. It happens and hindsight is 20/20, but yeah 100M on the line go get 1 fuggin yard with your 35M or 2nd round RB

He threw the ball 46 times. He'd better be close to 300 yards lol

Yup, and I called he would likely feast on this Bucs garbage pass defense.  Good for Bryce, seriously.  However, he still struggles in the red zone too often.   Let's see how he fairs on the road against an Eagles team near the top of the League's of best pass defenses.

I agree with you in principle that yes it should be automatic. But I assume you've watched a lot of football over the last few decades as I have. I see huge differences in kicking now versus years ago. There just aren't kickers like that anymore who can consistently hold that clutch label for even one or two seasons let alone the bulk of a career. What is the culprit idk maybe it's a generational thing but the position has definitely changed in that regard. That's why we hired an offensive minded head coach anyway. To prevent ourselves from being backed into that corner where we put all the pressure on a kicker. Otherwise we could have just hired another defensive coordinator.

Kickers are more dynamic these days but less consistent. Everyone can miss a 40 yard kick, but everyone can also nail a 58 yarder any day. 15 years ago, a 55 yard FG would make sports center top 10.

“Just a reaction, just a reaction”.

which is probably true.  Natural instinct for most isn’t to try to go one on one with that big fella in a random split second.  I didn’t notice it live.  Replay and the right angle shows Bryce thought about it and a window to try.

Keep Bryce I’ve seen enough this isn’t a fluke

Not me, not yet.  I've seen him getting better while also beating some bad teams.  My idea of a franchise QB is he can put a team on his back in the face of adversity for wins a few games a season.  Bryce hasn't come close to that level yet.  Right now he's at this marker--not losing games for us while keeping us competitive.  That's my metric for a bridge QB or a backup, not a guy that supposed to be making our team a perennial playoff contender, which is what you envision as the franchise QB.

I'm happy Bryce is doing better, but I'm thinking he's just about hit his ceiling.

Look what I want from a young QB is playmaking. I want them to rise to the situation. I want 4th quarter comebacks. I want long drives. I want them to make plays with the ball.  Young has been doing that the last few weeks. I still say we bring in some good competition in camp to push him, but that 4th quarter TD drive was beautiful.
