I love that you have a lot of passion for the Hurricanes.

I won't disagree that we should have done something with regards to getting a 3rd NHL level goalie with Freddie's injury history and something possibly happening to Koochie, but you cannot think that Tulsky or Rod have a crystal ball.

We were playing really well before Pyotr got hurt.  Spencer is fine to start a game here and there, but he isn't cut out to be starting every night.  The Canes are in a tough spot now because the we are a quarter of the way through the season and NHL goalies don't grow on trees.  Gotta kind of ride it out.....

Just don't throw two guys who have done a really good job under the bus for bad luck.  Tulsky made some really shrewd moves that had this team at the top of the standings before our goalie situation and Rod's coaching seemed just fine.

Hold the line bro!

This is all fine but we knew what we had in Freddie.  Rod wouldn’t change. We could have moved  on and been in a better spot.  We had a crystal ball with his history. Zebras don’t change their strips. If we would have had an above average healthy goalie this team would have a cup but the keep kicking the can. At some point, enough is enough.

I would have cut Freddie after game six of the Rags series, there is soft goals, then there is sheer incompetence , like letting in a game tying goal because you suddenly forgot how to skate

He had to have money on the Rags

Freddie was excellent in net. Yes there were a few soft goals but also a ton of great saves. You don’t get a quality goaltender to replace him at the salary he was paid. His only problem is a history of injuries.

The problem is, with Freddie's history, you have to include Martin's stats to get the real picture.

Which would be better for the team?

A) 15-20 of all-star level play and 20-25 of sub-AHL netminding

Or

B) 40 games of reliable league average goalie play.

Yep. I worried about Freddie’s health going in. Not sure why Martin was picked as insurance.

Tulskys money ball isn’t always going to work. In this case, your 3rd string emergency goalie should never be your starter unless a pinch. Not 6 games in a row.
