Some love for Steve Wilks

That 49ers defense got them to a SB last season with Wilks. And just like the Panthers the 49ers thought Wilks was the issue. Shanahan Jr thought it was a good idea to fire Wilks and hire his own guy. Now the 49ers have been exposed and they are likely going to miss the playoffs.

Shout out Steve Wilks!

He deserved to be HC and I think we would have had a really strong team had he stayed.

That said it looks like things are starting to work out here (fingers crossed). But I would always welcome Wilks back with open arms. We protect The Bank.

I don't think the Panthers thought Wilks was the issue.   I just think they thought he wasn't the coach for the future.  Those are different things.   I don't think they were wrong.

Love seeing that franchise in shambles. Fug them all.

Steve Wilks is doing just fine.

I haven't followed him since he wasn't a panther really.  Has he got hired somewhere else since the 49ers last year?

I live in NorCal so it's nice hearing them cry than squeal about HoF Purdy. Heck they did the same for their Jimmy Jesus back in the day.

I get the sentiment but how is working for UNC Charlotte “doing just fine”?

I mean if you consider like showing up and collecting a paycheck a win, sure.

There is a reason he isn’t working in the NFL.

There's a reason he's not in NFL right now so can we just let it go

Let what go?

You have some type of hate for dude. This is just an appreciation thread for one of the most loved HC's under the Tepper era. Players loved that guy.

    • he has barely suited up for 50% of our games.  It matters pending how much of our cap and resources go that way.  If he cost in the ballpark of a Surtain? No thank you.  Let someone else  And as far we know what happens when we let talent walk away or trade them…..that’s a mixed bag.   should we of paid Norman, Bradberry at CB? They probably had earned the right to be called better than Horn at that moment of the decision.  Do we regret that? Do we regret Star walking? Can take it back to Spoon.  Flip side is probably Peppers.
    • We need to get better in the redzone. And yes that is an issue that involves all the moving parts. Oline receivers QB and playcalling. But Bryce himself has to lead the charge on that or surely we could face another blowout in one of these upcoming games. Every team no matter how good they are is going to face an opponent that imposes their will on them and requires the same in response. Those are the games where we have got to capitalize on drives. Honestly I get the sense that the Chiefs on some level overlooked us.  So while I am pleased we were as competitive as we were it certainly remains to be seen if this was the beginning for something new or just an anomaly. I think that's a perfectly fair take at this juncture.
    • He is a diva, even with Baltimore winning, he will cry and pout and ask to be traded. He cares about his numbers and stats for his next contract. Ironically, his best chance to showcase his ability was with us, now he is just an afterthought.
