You don't know what they did or did not agree on.

Umm, did you miss the posts after this? It’s been reported that only Souleman was a dissenting voice that said take the Rams picks. Morgan was in agreement to not take the picks.

So you believe if Fitterer made that trade he doesn't get fired?  I find that really hard to believe.  The team would be worse than they were and he still hadn't hit on any draft picks.  You think Tepper's keeping him around to see how that turns out?

NFL teams are run by humans on short timelines.  They frequently do what's in their own best interest before what's better for the team in the long term.  This is observable around the league.  What GM is selling off players for multiple 1sts to stockpile years of picks?  Whether or not its an effective strategy is not relevant.  It's not done for a reason.  If you fail to see that reason, I don't know what else to say.

It would absolutely have helped his cause. Also, if he traded DJ Moore for pick 15 in the 2023 draft (Packers offer), that would have helped. Heck, tanking that season by making any other trade so we don’t finish 6-6 and have to trade up for Bryce would have helped him.

First, Tepper would understand that we were in rebuild mode and really targeting a rookie QB. Second, we wouldn’t have thrown away so many picks to fug up with Young. Third, we would have had an arsenal of picks still which helps Fitterer look like he has a real plan. Last, that Burns trade would have looked like a huge win for us, especially when Sweat and Chase Young were had for way less.

Fitterer was fired because literally every move he made caused us to be worse. He needed a Burns to LA trade haul to give him something good to highlight.

A GM who is rebuilding collects future draft picks and has a plan. We didn’t do that and we clearly had no plan and his execution sucked.
