BREAKING NEWS: Panthers cut Charles Harris, Sign Akayleb Evans (2022 4th Rd/Just waived by Minny)

The Carolina Panthers announced Monday that they’ve placed DE Charles Harris on waivers. 

Harris is tied for the team lead in sacks, so this is a bit of a surprise.

Ian Rapoport reports that the Panthers claimed CB Akayleb Evans on Monday after he was waived by the Vikings on Saturday. 

Evans, 25, attended Tulsa for three years before transferring to Missouri in 2021 as a graduate transfer. He was selected by the Vikings in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

probably, but so is much of our defensive roster.  More than we have in recent seasons, Morgan has been churning the bottom of the roster and I love it.  Who cares if the guy who comes in is trash, might as well bring em in, see if anyone can stick and show more than a jag.  In a sea of players theres 99 jags for every 1 luvu, might as well check.

CB Akayleb Evans was cut  by the Vikings. They drafted him in the 4th round in the 2022 draft. He has played in 32 of a possible 42 games with 17 starts. He played 85% of the ST snaps in 2023. However, he hasn't seen the field hardly in 2024. He's a tall CB at 6' 2". A team claiming him off of waivers would be getting him on a rookie contract for the remainder of this year and all of next year.

I was hoping Barno was back he has a little pop to him food gene I think before looking it up he had good pressure numbers. But this is odd maybe we need the coaches tape he must’ve been out there missing tackles as missing assignments consistently lol.

With Wonnum cemented in the rotation and Barno near return, we're almost near the EDGE room Morgan intended on for the season w/Clowney, Wonnum, DJJ, & Amare.  Harris was an expendable midseason pickup. 

And this waiver pickup from Minny looks interesting.  Good competition for the other back of roster guys.
