And yeah Michael Oher, numerous other CTE occasions. I dunno if one bad one is worse than multiple mild ones but to say it's not serious is ridiculous. I got a mild one with whiplash in a car wreck and walked away fine but couldn't remember to grab my wallet or keys for at least a week.

I get what he was saying in terms of hospital admittance. I just think there's a lot not really well understood about concussions and their impacts and how it varies from individual to individual.

Head injuries have different classifications. Concussion, concussion with post concussive syndrome, mTBI uncomplicated, mTBI complicated, TBI. Only the medical staff and patient should know the actual severity of his head injury, but being released from the hospital pretty much rules out the latter 3 options.

Depending on the quality of doctor I guess. You can't rule out post concussion symptoms in like 2 hours post injury, I don't see a way that a doctor can look at someone who just had blunt force trauma and say they won't have a delayed reaction to it after the pain/shock wears off

Seems like everyone I know who has had major back surgery regrets it and says they're worse off than they were prior even though the doctors swear the images look so much better after.

That’s neurosurgery not ortho, and the reason back surgeries don’t hold is because people don’t address the issues that lead to the pain to begin with.

but yeah similar. The only unnecessary back surgery is the first one.

Is that seriously who does the tent evals for head injuries? Suck it up and put a neurologist on the sidelines…. But no neurologist would ever clear a player to return that day so that would never fly.

They claim it's an "independent" neurologist but how independent can someone be while also cashing a nice check from the NFL? I mean, every football fan has seen dudes staggering around like Joe Blow twelve deep at the bar and then get cleared so... well, LOL

That is correct. I’d love to see their neuro exam in action as it goes down in the tent.

I suspect with Sanders being who he is that they could have warmed up the MRI machine for him.

I hope his shoulder is ok as it looked like he came down on it pretty hard. As for his neck… not going to feel too good when he has to whip his head around to track a pass. I wouldn’t be surprised if they held him out at least a week. Necks and backs can be dicey. That spasm is a bish.

Ted Dibiase did say “everybody’s got a price”
