That said, Evero is a good coach but its going to be tough sell fans coming for the Panthers

Tough sell is an understatement.  We hired the OC of the 20th ranked offense and everyone lost their minds.  You think fans of another team are gonna be excited about having the DC of the worst defense in the league?  Lmao

oh PLEASE let him get hired as a HC somewhere

I just won't those draft picks, we badly need them and getting an extra 3rd rounder two years in a row would be HUGE for our franchise.

Also knowing we'd have them could allow us to trade other picks of our own this year to move up if needed.  If he got hired somewhere, I'd have no issue giving up our 4ths the next couple years as kickers in trade ups as the comp 3rd picks would be before those picks anyways.

I would rather keep him anyway, give that man some talent and let him cook

The 4th ranked defense is an illusion. Teams didn't put tons of yards up simply because they didn't have to. When an opponent needed to score they usually did with ease.

It’s almost like you want to run with a narrative and completely didn’t watch any of those games last year.

also you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken poop. We are sorely lacking in talent on Defense, and have been for a while now.

The NFL is well known for being a merciful league. Coaches absolutely don't run up the score if they can...

It’s hard to say how good/bad EE is with the lack of talent and the plenty of injuries on his side of the ball.

I have not enjoyed his soft zone tendencies or his inability to scheme any kind of rush but I’ll again hold my peace on that due to the personnel he has to work with.

It seems his biggest attribute at the moment is his consistency and tenure.

Yeah, this is the least talented defense in franchise history. Hard to beat him up that badly.

Good luck with that. Haven’t seen a single player on D get better under his coaching 🤷‍♂️

Have you seen the players on this defense?

These players suck at tackling. This is not his fault he has nothing to work with. Luvu/Burns were our best talents and they both left in FA. Brown is our best defensive player and he was injured early in the season. Horn is the only legit player he has on defense.

Cmon bro chill

Great coaches inevitably get promoted to higher positions elsewhere. Obviously, if a front office wants him and he wants to leave, so be it. I do feel it's a really hard sell to the fans bringing in someone who - regardless of how little talent he has to work with - is over one of the worst defenses in the NFL right now.

YPG/total yards is a terrible statistic for this argument. This "4th ranked defense" gave up the 4th most points last year.

Remember when Rhule and Snow had the "2nd ranked defense" in 2021? It's the exact same situation and circumstance with respect to this statistic and Evero but folks weren't making comments about 'running with a narrative' at that time.

I watched every game, if anything it seems you are the one spinning a narrative. Yardage doesn't mean much, points allowed is the important stat. We were ranked 25th, not exactly "great".

All off season, I knew the defense would be the biggest issue.

It's not because of the except coaching.

I prefer we keep him.

Well yeah, it was all about Bryce all the time. fug the defense is what I saw.

They only get addressed with the leftovers from helping the QB.
