Contract update: Daniel Jones’ is signing a one-year deal with the Vikings through the remainder of this season for $375,000, per source. He will start out on the Vikings’ practice squad, and Jones still could sign with another team if another starting quarterback went down in the next three weeks.

If they don't resign Darnold(they likely will not) he really only would have to beat out a rookie QB in JJ McCarthy. 

I don't think that's really a good scenario for Jones, IMO, however. But, being on a far better team with far better coaching would help tremendously.
