See where you draft, see if there is an option. If not, get a Dalton/Flacco PREVIOUSLY SUCCESSFUL veteran to be acceptably mediocre. If you want to gamble on fool's gold(all of the other busts you listed) that's fine, if you take that option first. Outside that, you are just dooming the franchise, the coach, probably the GM, all of our developing young talent and ABSOLUTELY the fans to watching another rebuild start in the 2026 offseason.

I really am perplexed by the need to chase massively unsuccessful guys when two of the guys you claimed to be worthwhile failed dramatically here(Dalton, Mayfield).

There is no secret solution to suddenly not being a dumpster fire. Understand that no matter what goes on in the entirety of the 2025 offseason, we will be a bad team that loses plenty of games. This ain't a quick fix. And Daniel Jones is not the kind of player that is going to do well going from one dumpster fire to the next.

If you like the Dalton and Mayfield examples, where did they go in between? A highly successful franchise that didn't need them to do poo but chill on the bench and get their heads right. We are 180 degrees opposite of that. It's just another recipe for wild failure.

We don't rebuild, we retool.

I know some people are sold on Morgan but I'm not one of them. There's no way as a former MLB he looked at BY and said that's the future franchise QB of the Carolina Panthers based on last year's film and there's no need to bring in anyone else. Or he just rubber stamped Tepper's decision to bring in no one else, and Dave is making the calls like Jerry Jones. Either way doesn't bode well for fans of this franchise.

All I'm saying is you have to evaluate all options, even if they're fugly.

He wasn't the GM who picked Young as much as frank repeats the best friends line we don't know.  Beane was assistant to Gettleman and Hurney and doesn't suffer for it.

His first year free agents and  draft picks have fared well. There was no real need to bring in someone this year. Young as number 1 needs to prove what he is. We weren't winning anything this year. I don't know what people keep expecting miracle seasons without the work.

I think you do what you need to to to get the gig. Then if you can keep it you can do things more your way. They made this year all about Bryce. Not bringing competition in, and loading up the draft and FA to make his Sundays go well.

Dan did it their way, maybe it was his way too, but like you say... as a MLB you have to look at Bryce and lick your chops. I could never understand how a defensive player could look at Young and be afraid of what he could do, so I didn't think any were telling the truth when they acknowledged him as worthy of the first overall.

do you think Tepper would have hired Morgan if he was against the young trade/selection?

After watching Young for a year I don't think that would have been a deal killer.

Then you go to the notion that no one else wanted the job, it opened it up more than usual.

I think he does not have to pass through waivers as a 4 year vet. That makes him a vested vet and he is released outright to free agency.
So I don’t think there are contractual obligations attached. But I am frequently wrong about poo.

This is too sudden for us to get involved I think, at least right away. Now watch that be wrong too.

thanks--I don't really keep up with that stuff.  I think people see this as an all or nothing proposition. It is not--if he were to come here, it would have to be on a hometown discount and he would enter as one of four QBs.  We watched Darnold and screamed, "He sucks!"  and he is playing well for the Vikings with a good situation;  We screamed, "Baker sucks!"  and he signed a biggish deal with the Bucs and is a pretty nice fit in their system.  You'd think we'd be willing to take a low-risk chance on this guy.  NY is the worst place to play if you are on a bad team (Ask Aaron Rogers).  The Giants have a banged up and fragmented roster.  Jones is emotionally and mentally drained.  Could he be done?  Yep.  Could he be good somewhere else with better weaponry, coaching, and protection.  Yep.

there is no team friendly deal, he could play for free and its the same result, he fuging sucks

He might suck--but instead of giving him a change in a new setting, and before GMs decide his value, they should just ask you.  How was school today?  Did they have pizza and corn?

I never said he picked Bryce. Bryce was Tepper's pick. He never fit any part of Frank's offense. This offseason, nothing was done to bring in competition for a QB that put up Josh Rosen numbers. That's definitely a reason to bring in someone else to compete.

I don't expect miracles, but I do expect to at least address the biggest elephant in the room. Bryce was handed the starting job based on draft position, not performance. Any other QB with that plays like that is competing for a roster spot or to be on the PS.  What's the point of playing the game if you're not trying to win? We might as well have just forfeited every game this season if that's the attitude.

Why would you take a failed QB from a bad team and think he would fare better on a far worse team?

Did it work with Teddy? Dalton? Baker?

If he needs rehab from addiction to sucking, we are not the place for it. This is a Hoover factory.

Yeah, honestly that is a bad look for an organization. If you openly are disrespectful to a player, regardless of their abilities, why would I want to work there?

Its new York. I rarely meet anyone from New York who isnt a complete asshole unfortunately. I think its something in their nasty ass water.
