All of them are better than Bryce except for Jones and that's the only thing that matters.

Neither of those guys is helping develop our budding offensive talent nor are they doing much more winning than Bryce.

Also, I am skeptical we see Bryce here in 2025, so that's not even a real consideration.

If your goal is to run the triple option, Fields is the dude all day long, however.

I'm excited to see him in action. I don't know why anyone else wouldn't be. Hopefully he looks like a stud in the making. But I'm not going to expect much given the circumstances. It is a home game though so hopefully the team comes out fired up.

I mean.....his guy has to be someone willing to come so Geno Smith is out. If you mean RUSSELL Wilson, that is laughable.

Fields and ZACH Wilson are just basically the beginning of the end. These aren't likely to be Geno Smith turnarounds. Fields is further proving that he just isn't much more than a gimmick player. Zach Wilson still probably needs a year or two under some better circumstances before I would consider him a candidate for being a turnaround. He is just jumping straight back into the NY Jets fire here.

Its not me its what Kaye said and yes its russell wilson giving his "ties" to DC.  I really really dont want to go that route and prefer to find someone in the draft but kaye said it appears Canales skillset is that he prefer older vet qbs.  I have no idea how true that is but his "magic" hasnt worked on bryce or dalton.

I am setting my expectations extremely low because it's such a very tough introduction to the NFL. Honestly, IDC what he looks like in 2024 if it ends up being bad. 2025 is what matters. Full offseason, healthy and practicing with the team and without a serious injury that you are just recovering from. That's where we need him to shine.

You literally simply have to think logically for either of those guys. Smith is locked up on a deal for 2025, so we would have to trade for him or he gets cut. Neither of those scenarios are likely in the first place.

Wilson will be 37 in 2025. Why on earth would he have any interest in a situation that is far worse than he was given in Denver and wasn't able to win there? He's a guy that can drop into any ready to win franchise in the NFL and immediately elevate their chances of winning(provided they already have QB issues).

Frankly, that is either speculation that even David Newton should be embarrassed by or it shows how disconnected with reality some people in our organization are.

I do agree with him on getting a veteran QB, however. That's our best chance to keep developing our talent.

Agree 1000% with everything you said.  However seattle can cut Smith to get out of his contract this offseason so that is where this started.   Kaye was only mentioning the realistic vet free agent options that make the most sense.  We are for sure signing someone and I simply cannot see a scenario where bryce is still on the roster or even on the bench because all of the dudes mentioned are probably better then him.

I think he is just drawing a DC to them line and that's about as far as his thought process went. It makes almost no sense outside of that. Also, it doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh or Seattle at this juncture either.

I think our "veteran" pool is basically gonna be the Dalton/Flacco tier or the "pick your poison" options of young busts(Jones/Z. Wilson) or wild, TO prone gunslingers(Darnold/Winston/etc). We have the option to pursue

I genuinely believe(depending on the way the rest of this season goes), we either draft a QB in the top 10 or resign Dalton. Outlier third option on taking one of the wild gunslingers that Dave feels like he can work with.
