He will be out at least two months

Does anyone else see this as the beginning of the end of Freddie Andersen?

It started as a day-to-day.

Escalated to week-to-week: Brind'Amour announced that Andersen was considered week-to-week with the injury. He said, "That's a little more time than I was hoping, but hopefully we'll get an update every week".

Next: Brind'Amour later said that Andersen's injury would be "way longer" than expected.

Now: https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/toronto-maple-leafs/latest-news/report-former-maple-leafs-goaltender-frederik-andersen-shut-down-by-hurricanes-to-miss-roughly-8-weeks-following-knee-surgery

According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Andersen is set to undergo surgery that will keep him out of the team's lineup for "roughly" eight weeks.

Who here believes the Canes will roll with Kochetkov and Martin without making a move?

Well he would be 36 next year and a UFA. Unless he is planning on being cheap and a backup to Kochetkov, I can't see this continuing.

Martin is a fun story but he isn’t the solution. It has to be the end of Freddie in Carolina. The best ability is availability. I would go all in a trade for Gibson or Soros. It’s time to quit dicking around in goal and get it done.

The same can be said for Kochetkov i don't trust him for poo in the playoffs.

This isnt a bad thing at all.  Its all retro for cap reasons.  Heard it on the radio earlier.  Think what they did with Jarvis a month or so ago.  Time table is still on track,

Yep...

Freddie Anderson activated from IR

Frederik Andersen was activated from injured reserve and will be the backup for the Hurricanes against the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday (7 p.m. ET; FDSNSO, SCRIPPS, NHLN, TVAS2).

The 35-year-old goalie has not played since Oct. 26, when he made 18 saves in a 4-1 win against the Seattle Kraken. He was expected to miss 8-12 weeks, and returned to practice with the Hurricanes on Jan. 8 for the first time since he had knee surgery Nov. 22.

More in the linky thingy...
