Finally a power ranking we are top 5 in..

A male lion will beat a tiger even though the tiger will have 1/3 more body weight.

Male Lions' fight to kill, tigers won't fight.  A male lion will never stop coming, a tiger will quit immediately.  Male Lions exist only to kill.  Tigers are hunters.

Male Lions are absolutely relentless.   Do a deep dive on lions vs. tigers - look specifically for comments by animal trainers from the early 20th century.

A lion vs. a bear?  That's a good question.   Bears don't have an off switch either - and they have more natural defenses.  I'd take a grizzly or polar but I don't know about a standard black bear.

anyone who has ever seen the fury and speed of a house cat when things go sideways understands why the cat is the alpha predator on this planet.

A male bengal tiger is 10’ long and over 600 lbs. claws and canines can be 4” long. They can flat jump 15’ in the air. The grizzly would be completely shredded and/or bit it the face or throat. It has the power to drag a water buffalo. It’d be over quickly.

So lion vs bengal tiger? Tiger is faster, lion in more broad and powerful. Siberian tiger is over 700 lbs, but that’s not an option.

I respect the size and ferocity of the grizzly but you’ve got to take the tiger in 8 out of 10 fights. Lion vs tiger… not sure.

i got attacked by a housecat once. pretty terrifying.

i was at a friends house and the cat jumped on my lap. it was calm for a minute but then it turned on it's back and bit my hand and sunk it's claws into my arm, all four of them so i grab the thing and pull the thing off my arm, dragging it's claws down my arm. i finally get the crazy thing off and throw it on the ground then it grabs my leg (fortunately i was wearing jeans that day) and the owner, who has just been sitting there in shock watching this happen to this point, grabs the thing and carries it downstairs and throws it outside.

supposedly that cat had never done anything like that before. i had been over there a lot and never had any problems with that cat. but something happened to it and it was never the same. went completely mental. they kept it outside after that.

one week they went on vacation for a few days and apparently a stray chow came around and when they got home, the chow had the cat trapped under a car. no telling how long it had been there.

they chased off the chow and the cat ran off and they never saw it again.

then that chow came back and hung around for a while and was terrorizing the other animals, including an old horse they had in a pasture. it killed at least one cat that i know of. they called animal control on it and they found it under one of their outbuildings. they figured the only thing they could do is shoot the thing. they shot it with a shot gun and it took one blast and then went running towards the guy who shot it and had to shoot it again.

The female lions yes but the male lions are lazy bums. Even then you need a pride of lioness to take anything of size down. Grizzly bears are modern monsters you don't mess with

That being said a panther ( leopard ) would take out a smaller jaguar

And I have no idea how a cardinal would beat a dolphin

Unless your a polar bear. That's what grizzly bear's nightmares are made of. lol

I have 2 male cats: a 16 lb and an 18 lb. Both good mannered and tolerate each other most of the time, until something makes big guy nervous…. And he makes THAT noise. The low pitched someone’s world is about to get f-ed up. Inevitably, the 2 go at each other in a terrifying fury that you have to witness to appreciate. I idiotically got in the middle a couple weeks ago and in a blur I had 3 5” slashes on my leg and a nasty puncture on my thumb (that mo fo hurt worse than when I smashed my face in the corner of my dresser).

When cats fight, you literally don’t even see the shots, you just see balls of fur flying. I don’t want to find out what that x30 would be capable of. Imagine a 500-600 lb mongoose.

I think cats are probably going to be the most dangerous predator because that's how they survive.  That's why they evolved the way they did.

Bears though are HUGE with sharp claws, thick fur and skin, and can develop terrible cocaine additions (sorry, but that movie is so much fun, well half of it).

In a 1v1, with animals who are set up and provoked into combat, it's going to be challenging.  The cats will fight until they realize they can't win and try to escape.  While they can be fierce, they also have a high survival instinct.  You don't see them downing healthy bull elephants.  Bear are very fierce, but they are energy conscious.  If there's plenty of food around, like when the weather is warm, they will be relentless.  When it's leaner, they will be smart.

So...I guess it depends?  Right now, I'd put money on the bears over the cats.  Cats are devastating, but also smart.

Also, what kind of bears are we talking about?  Polar Bears?  Grizzly?  Black?  Panda?  kind of a range lol.
