Daniel Jones benched

Why, because we have the quarterback whisperer?

He's 28, has a great skill set, perfect size and at 6-5 230, pretty dang mobile.  Andy at 38 is probably not coming back--my guess--and Jones needs a change of scenery--The Vikings, Bucs, Seahawks, Lions, etc. found starting QBs in other team's garbage--two of them from our garbage. the system, coaching staff, etc. makes a difference.  I think Jones is a head case right now--if you played behind the OLs he has had and had his WRs--now without Barkely in the backfield-- he has never had what we have here.  I would not make him plan A, but I would bring him in as the backup and draft a guy to compete with Bryce.  That is about as good as you can do in the NFL.  Jones' contract might be an issue--I don't get into that stuff too much.

We already have 2 crappy qb's and you guys want to sign another crappy qb? How about we aim higher than Daniel Jones. This place has gone full mental.

Preach brother.  We have motherfugers in here advocating for danny fuging dimes.  This is how low we have fallen.

His career stats.

24-44-1 With 9 wins his highest ever.  With Barkley

64%

14000 yards passing going over 3000 just 1 fuging time

70 tds 47 ints to go along with 50 fumbles.  50 fuging fumbles

In short he has 1 season over 5 wins.  1.

You mothers are insane if you think he is a good option

Well, we are fallen so low that the guy you rail against as being no good at all, is an upgrade to our starter.

I agree the bar needs to be higher.

The thing with jones is coaches get mesmerized by his tools and think they can fix him but he just stinks.  With bryce there isnt even any physical traits you can point to that suggests he could be a competent nfl qb

    • Yea, you're right.  I think you're definitely bias.   Show me some routes that show his quickness and explosiveness.  Getting open downfield doesn't necessarily mean you're fast, it especially doesn't mean you're quick.   Lots of wide receivers get open deep in college.  I'm not saying not to take him, I'm just saying so far I haven't seen a lot of quickness or full route tree ability that we always ignore.  Most of the best receivers in the modern NFL aren't big bodied receivers.    Of the top 15 or so receivers in the NFL this season i believe maybe 4 are above 6'1.  Quickness/change of direction and route running are much more important in my opinion in the modern NFL than height.  The modern NFL revolves around quick separation, timing, and tax.  Plus we just drafted XL to be a big body guy.
    • Now we just need to see ECU vs UNC in the Duke's Mayo Bowl at BOA
    • I think he's only played a game or two at LT, he's been on the right since the second he was drafted because they already had a franchise LT in Taylor Decker, the only games he played over there was when that guy was injured. Sewell was who I always wanted in that draft and I'm still bitter about Detroit taking him one pick before us (and being from Michigan with all my friends being Lions fans, they still laugh about how angry I was when that happened as we were all watching that draft together). Sewell is the best RT in football and if he was on the left side, he'd still be an All-Pro over there too.
