In the spotlight stealer sense, is how I took it..

his personality and presence is far too large for any backup role on a team. it cannot be controlled or restrained. not a slight on him at all, btw.

he's not going to be a starter anywhere....not for very long. his shoulder just wouldn't be able to handle it.

any vet QB he is teamed with in a starter role will have to compete with him for leader role. his presence will distract people just because people will naturally gravitate towards him or have an ear out for him.

newer QBs that are trying to build their presence as a leader won't stand a chance with him there.

he is not a guy you can have on a team that is building. on a team that is competing, he automatically takes the spotlight and attention from the team. he becomes the focus. that's not by his doing. this is just the natural by-product of having him on a team.

and i can understand not celebrating his career until he puts in the retirement papers.

he hasn't been forgotten. as soon as he files retirement papers, he'll be celebrated. and the sooner he can get his yellow jacket.

if he's hoping he'll get picked up by someone, it's not happening if it hasn't happened in the past couple years.

That is in the context of joining a team to play football. .

This has turned into a discussion of specifically why Cam and the organization have issues, not as much why he wasn't in Germany when the other ex players were. Which seems to possibly have a practical explanation.

Personally - when he put the blame on the organization in defense of Bryce and it isn't Bryce's fault he showed me something. Not sure what, but it was some sort of agenda.

was invite sent out or did the panthers pay for the trips of former, non-retired players to go to Germany? If there was, then there's a problem that goes beyond the Cam issue, because that's inappropriate in the first place.

Was he told not to go?

i'm just wondering how he was "slighted" or how he feels slighted.

lol I went through 7 pages expecting someone to explain this by now. This coming from a huge Cam fan.
Luke, TD, Jake, Steve all have things in common.. they are retired, with no possibility they'll play for another team. It's just not what the majority of social media teams do.

Also this can't be overlooked, we have a massive fanbase that wants to see Cam solve our CURRENT problems.

So if we're posting all of his highlights, bringing him around etc. the org and social team has to deal with all of the 'Bring him back!' conversation. I personally believe if he were to retire it would be different.

I love Cam, and want the org to celebrate him, but they've told him why things are how they are (he isn't retired) and he says he just isn't going to and expects them not to care... I get he's never playing again, but just sign the papers to retire and call their bluff...

    • It may seem like our rookies have fairly low yards. But If you combine the yards for Coker,  Legette, and J.Sanders, you get 800 which is more than Neighbors or BTJ.  Also Coker is the only UDFA on this list the fact that he's on any kind of top list as UDFA makes him arguably our best move this off season for the price we paid to get him. Slam Dunk off-season by Dan Morgan. Especially if Brooks shows us something this season. We've already seen Trevin Wallace doing some good things. Getting anything out of Smith Wade or Crumedy would be a bonus. Rarely do 5th to 7th Rounders work out. In a sort of strange way that Michigan LB we drafted in the 7th got us a serviceable backup CB in Mike Jackson. So there's that too. Imagine if Morgan has just as good as of an off-season before the 2025 season for the defensive side of the ball.

    • I'm happy those 2 are finding success elsewhere. Chinn never lived up to the hype after his rookie season and Luvu just wanted to go play in Dan Quinn's defense that suits him perfectly. I can't hate on that.
