The Texans would likely disagree too.

It's a case-by-case thing, and in the case of Williams, well... 😕

There are a handful (a very small handful) of NFL qb's in history that were able to handle it.  Cam Newton, mainly because of his size and strength.  Jayden seems to be doing ok but that is because he had an almost idea setup and he played a lot more games in college than the majority of these guys do. But If he were in Chicago, not sure he would be doing any better than Williams.

Most of the NFL greats (Brady, Montana, Mahomes, Bradshaw, Staubach etc...) sat for a while.  There is this myth that today's qb's are able to play right away because of what they did in college.  It ain't true.

Honestly I'd argue that what most of them are doing in college right now is an argument against them starting right away rather than for it.

You might be right, but some make the argument that qb's in college throw the ball more than they did 20-30 years ago.

Generally in simplified, gimmicky systems with limited route trees and minimal read responsibility...

Young most certainly has physical limitations, but enough super athlete quarterbacks have failed over the last few years to throw significant water on the idea that you can "just coach them up" as long as they have all the athletic tools.

Imo, the ability to get the ball out quickly and accurately under pressure is still the most important skill a qb can have. Of course, when you can do that and still run around and make freaky looking throws, you get Patrick Mahomes.

This. If they can handle pressure without leaving the pocket in college and make tight window throws that's who you should be looking at.

Rumor is that some Bears players thought Williams should be benched as opposed to Waldron being fired.

True? Don't know. Plausible? Yeah.

Either way, given their prior connections It's not exactly hard to imagine Waldron becoming a part of Dave Canales' Panthers staff in some role.

(heck, I'd be for it)

Waldron is fuging awful and the Bears have no legit QB options outside Williams.

Why take the job if your Thomas Brown? Why tie your future career aspirations at being an OC or a HC to a mentally unprepared rookie again?

what's he supposed to say? no? and get fired at the end of the season anyways? he gets an opportunity to prove his ability again with a #1 pick QB and a slew of weapons.

    • This thread is one of the worst ever created in the history of the Huddle. Congrats.
    • The words came from a former member of the team, current Steelers safety DeShon Elliott, who said during an appearance on the Punch Line Podcast that he was looking forward to playing against a hard-nosed AFC North opponent in the Ravens primarily because his old team was "soft as f---." "There were some guys who were tough, but the majority of the (Dolphins) were not mentally tough individuals," Elliott said, via ESPN. "So to be on a (Steelers) team with a full team of mentally tough guys going against a mentally tough team ... this is going to be fun." Elliott has plenty of experience with the rough-and-tumble AFC North. He began his NFL career with the Ravens, spending his first three seasons in Baltimore before he left for Detroit and became a mercenary, doing one-year stints with the Lions and Dolphins before landing in Pittsburgh. He's seen some things, including the differences in styles of play among divisions. https://hype.co/@dovevedereparthenopeostreaming https://hype.co/@dovevedereterrifier3streaming https://hype.co/@dovevederevenom3streaming https://hype.co/@dovevederethesubstanceitaliano https://hype.co/@dovevedereinterstelarstreaming https://hype.co/@dovevedereunorossostreaming https://hype.co/@dovevederesmile2streaming https://hype.co/@dovevederelonglegsstreaming https://hype.co/@dovevederemegalopolisstreaming https://hype.co/@dovevederegladiatore2streaming https://hype.co/@dovevedereanorastreamingita https://web3devcommunity.com/topic/39295/bdhedu-bcjdiw-vjhdvoege-ciuwiof9893r https://foro.ribbon.es/topic/30015/osedyuedy-provided-with-one-free-vjcdio943 https://forum.woimortal.com/forum/community/discussions/109826-89frijf90-jcvhjdkv https://herbalmeds-forum.biolife.com.my/d/206044-78fsh-vcbdjgt43-provided-with-one-free-trhth https://forum.thecodingcolosseum.com/topic/18687/hty656hg-drre-provided-with-one-free-gr4tt https://forum.instube.com/d/174612-9fdi8j-vndhj-provided-with-one-freeif8e9r https://forum.realdigital.org/d/272670-or88bnf-jvdgf8rji-provided-with-one-free-gre3543g https://hackmd.io/@stevaniachaw/S1q8iYXGkl https://www.deviantart.com/stevianaomi/journal/BVNFJ-JFU843G-provided-with-one-free-9TR8H-1122084869 https://imgur.com/gallery/iufjklf-kdsodo89-provided-with-one-free899w-UENLtKW https://challonge.com/jnsb4r91 https://thedarkko.net/topic/174507-kiftsy-hfue8e-provided-with-one-free-polfi84/ https://diendannhansu.com/threads/trhfu-uer73u-provided-with-one-free-98trhdd.664500/ https://start.me/w/wJKzrY https://saphalaafrica.co.za/wp/question/lilikjuit-dh789f-provided-with-one-free-icdivdi/ https://www.serialzone.cz/uzivatele/229362-frenzinaomi/
