Our big $$ guards brought stability, but they also brought in good veteran leadershipwho can mentor the rest of the lineman on the correct way to do things. Huge. Can not overstate this. ‘Here’s how you become good’ type guys. When he does X, you do Y. dudes who are not ok with losing.

And handing off blocks and assignments is so much easier when you trust the guys around you. poo, even Moton looked like trash next year in the settings we had him in. And we KNOW he is a very good player.

This honestly might be our best overall OL ever. Our other good OLs had worse weak links IMO that were easier to exploit.

I do think we have a lower top end than some previous great OL's. But this line has a very consistent level of play.

Good example being BC on Sunday. Got abused multiple times but....still didn't allow a sack. The much maligned Ikey.....also only one sack allowed on the year.

We are allowing 1.8 sacks per game and 6 of them were in Bryce's first two games when he was the primary reason for the overwhelmingly majority of them.

Sounds like a lot of takes around here in 2021 about Mac Jones

I am a Jaden Daniels guys. I said he was the best QB in that draft.

You ain't gonna hear me calling franchise QB yet a half season into his career. And he was playing at a potential MVP level.

Anyone remember that Carson Wentz almost won an MVP his second season?

That's fair. I guess that kinda speaks to what I value most in OL play - consistency. The SB50 OL had a higher ceiling of play but Remmers was a massive liability against speed rushers as we saw in our only two losses that year. We missed out on an undefeated regular season and a Lombardi because Remmers absolutely could not handle elite speed rushers and Shula could not scheme around it. Roll the pocket? Focus on plays allowing the ball to come out quicker? Nonsense! We do what we do! We'll keep an extra blockers in and just keep running our same slow developing downfield stuff no matter what!

    • Sanders aint coming here https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10143267-deion-sanders-ill-step-in-privately-to-keep-shedeur-from-wrong-team-in-nfl-draft
    • I think it comes down to one main issue  The NFL doesn't want to market a small market teams sucess, which will sell more merchandise, Denver with Peyton Manning, or the Carolina Panthers  We are not respected in any sport except college basketball , even the national media discredits the Canes cup win because the Oils starting goalie got injured in game 1, even though he was injured by his own player driving a Cane into him trying to draw an interference call  Comes with the territory, if you are a Carolina fan, the whole world is really against you, you are not really part of the club
    • I agreed on drafting a QB is a gamble regardless of a good draft class or not. I agreed on you have to keep trying to get your QB. I was just telling you the possible reason why people want the Panthers to pass on a QB in the first round this year. Its Morgan/Canales that will get to decide their fate. If they fall for one, draft him. If they don't, then don't. Don't just draft one because you need one. No one can say for sure whether ward, sanders, or any other QB in this draft will be a franchise QB. What if we take one and he doesn't work out again. How far back would that set us? I don't think we should be scared to take one and I don't think we should just say right now to focus on 2026 for QB.  Go through the routine/norm of the off-season. Scout and do our research and make the best decision for the team moving forward. If they think that is a QB first round, fine.
