Canales still not sold on Bryce?

If they were sold on him and really wanted him to be the starter then they would have already said so.

Remember, these dudes have a paycheck wrapped up in winning football games. It’s also become evident that we have a lot of dudes not ok with losing. Andy is going to get healthy eventually and everyone knows he’s 10x the qb BY will ever be. Name BY the new starter… naw dog.

I mean Bryce still doesn’t pass the eye test. He’s made some better throws since he was benched I’ll give him that. But there’s just not a lot of zip on the ball and he still struggles to make routine throws in rhythm.

I think we are currently watching his ceiling, which is about 100 air yards a game, relying on either tons of yac from your skill players or multiple turnovers on defense to keep the game in reach. Oh yeah and Chuba can't run for 150 yards a game forever. He's playing at a Kyle Allen/PJ Walker level and the optics got so bad recently that people are somehow ok with it. Crazy that we ditched Teddy just to spend 4 years going through all these trades and everything just to end up basically in the same place. I think Teddy actually could throw a better deep ball if asked, just wasn't in his nature to.

I don't think Canales has the real say.  I think Bryce's benching after week 2 was Tepper (100%).  The only way to explain such a hard 180 after the Monday meeting from Sunday.   I think what to do going forward is Tepper......and that's why Canales forever struggles with basic questions.

I think you are never going to get an answer saying a change like that is happening in a Sunday post game press conference.

It doesn't really matter which one starts but the fact Canales doesn't say who's starting the next game is kinda odd. I'm not sure what the benefit is in not saying who's starting. The Chiefs will not have to change anything no matter who's behind center. Maybe he's still trying to convince Andy to start? I know I wouldn't want to be the sacrificial lamb to go against those guys.

I think the answer is easy.   Because he doesn't have to.  Fans and media think they are due way more in these press conferences than they are.  Everything said should pretty much be taken with a grain of salt.  You're going to get 99% coach speak and then maybe an occasional slip up.

Not even Dan Snyder was that insane.

I am sure Dave had to pitch a case to Tepper in his weekly meeting but I don't think it was a hard sell. I am not sure it will be a tough sell to bench Bryce again, either.

They could have each had "Andy time" written down on a piece of paper and revealed them simultaneously. And they agreed!

1 year plus 7 games in and he’s “reached his ceiling” is honestly kind of a crazy statement.

After the first two games his ceiling would have been 33rd best qb in the league” and it certainly isn’t that right now. Give the dude a chance to keep earning his starting job instead of writing him off after a year and some change.

He made some incredible throws the last couple games and some head scratching decisions. That’s what happens when you are a young quarterback. Yea he isn’t CJ Stroud or Jayden Daniels yet and he may never be. But he is not done cooking and is still in the evolution stage and that usually takes YEARS. If you want to give up on him and draft another qb and go through the exact same process in 3 years if they aren’t Daniel’s/Stroud lookalikes then that is your opinion and I’m glad you aren’t the GM.

do you think the raiders should have given up on Russell, do you think the cardinals should have given up on rosen?  How about Wilson for the jets?  I mean all of those dudes at one point or another  had "Incredible" throws during games, so were those teams in the wrong moving away from those guys?

We have seen what he can do with the football, I think is what people are referring to as his ceiling.

Whatever he does with that ability, that's maybe another thing. These weren't really stiff challenges the last couple of weeks, and we could not do enough to win that game in the second half. It was given away by the Giants in OT.

Right now he is doing about like I expected which is why I picked us for 5 or 6 wins I forget. And yes I knew the defense was not going to help us much.

1st year til the next November is literally the leash for most drafted qb's lol. Plus I was talking more about physical ceiling. Like great he didn't throw picks because he knows what throws he can't make anymore. He's not going to get more velocity or better at qb scrambles etc. I'm not sure what more he can improve on given the circumstances
