Canales still not sold on Bryce?

I may be crazy , but I am starting to see flashes from #9, like we should have seen last year

That no look TD pass was Mahommes esque

Granted it was against the Giants, but since he was benched, it seems like he is a different QB , his running is more confident also , he doesn't look like a scared rabbit anymore out there

I am not saying he is elite, but it would be the best for the team if Bryce Young develops into a franchise QB than tanking and spinning the roulette wheel again

I have hope, hope that will probably come back and bite me at some point, but now, I am cautiously optimistic

Bryce, I admit has performed well is spots but has yet to have a complete game where he has moved the ball consistently.   We can't have him do well on the first drive (probably scripted) and nothing else until after halftime adjustments.

Secondly, Canales needs to open the entire playbook and throw deep like Dalton.  If Bryce cannot perform the entire playbook than we need to look elsewhere for a future QB.

I mean....listen....if you want to throw it deep like Dalton, the answer to that is in the same sentence.

Notice how the Steelers were winning and some kept looking at those results saying, "Oh Justin Fields is the reason! He is a franchise QB!" But if they had watched the games, it was painfully obvious that entire offense is limited BECAUSE Fields was the QB. Mike Tomlin, being one of the smartest and most successful coaches in the NFL,  had the balls to switch to the QB that has been an elite QB previously.

That scenario is a LITTLE bit like ours. You watch these games and Bryce winning is cute, but he is obviously a limiting factor on this offense. If you want to get the maximum impact possible out of that passing game, you start the former three time Pro Bowl QB.

Now, all that said, I don't think having greater passing ability necessarily does Canales any good because he seems to have the propensity to get in a more pass happy streaks because of Dalton's success.

We have 2-3 remaining opponents that the diet of pounding the ball down their throats makes sense(all bottom 10 rushing defenses). Those are very winnable games for that reason. So maybe having that limiting factor in Bryce will "assist" him not get too pass happy.

I think he knows 126 yards isn’t beating the Chiefs

Isn’t beating anyone decent. Much less the chiefs. People thumping their chests about Bryce after an abysmal 126 yards passing need a reality check.

126 yards is terrible, awful, garbage quit pretending it’s not. I’m glad we won, but there is no reason to get on the Bryce train unless he starts showing stuff like he did against Green Bay last year.

That was almost a year ago….

Don't need 300 yards passing if you can run for 200.

you don't get to play the 27th and 29th worst run Ds most weeks in the NFL.

this week Bryce will go back to looking like a middle schooler.  KC is 3rd vs the run.   Which means it will be a couple hours of check downs and sacks.
