Yeah I know, Canales is done with young and I dont see any realistic scenario where he is our starter week one next year.  All I am saying is that without a qb that can win games on this roster it really doesnt matter how well the other players are playing because you simply cannot win consistently without a qb in the nfl

No $hit. We've been here before. But you don't stop adding good players because you are saving up for a qb. There's not a generational qb in this draft to sell out for and this team isn't and wasn't ready to do that. But they still need to add rookie talent everywhere, including qb. They cannot afford to not go bpa in the next few drafts regardless of position. They still need to continue fighting for every win regardless of how meaningless some of the folks think they are. It may be several years before a long-term answer is found for qb.

I don't think it's really useful to get caught up in the draft stuff right now.  We'll see where we are at the end of the season.  The draft is very much a crapshoot.  At this point, I'd rather have more darts to throw than be the first moron again.

While Huddlers are pretty opinionated on if there's a real QB 1 in this draft, the media is kind of poo pooing as far as a franchise QB.  Or they think they are sure fire first ballot HoFers.  Somewhere in between.  Or not at all...

Let's enjoy our first winning streak since the days of Steve Wilks.  Fun and enjoyment won't last long.  But if you love the draft and wants us to tanks, good luck to you!  Have fun!

I feel like he's done with Bryce too

Call me crazy but I dont think we have improved.  I think a lot of NFL teams have radically regressed.

I dunno

Bryce 2024 > Bryce 2023

O line is better

Jt > Ian and tremble

Leggett Coker 1/2 a season of dj > thielen mingo and Marshall

Hubbard 2024 > 2023 Hubbard and miles

D still sucks so a wash

And 3 >2

after the last few years we desperately need to get rid of the stink of this organization. Winning helps that. Also if there was any draft where it probably doesn't matter having the top overall maybe even top 5 overall pick it's this one. This draft is not great at top end talent. It's a lot of normal first and second round grade guys IMO

It's really very simple.

Tanking breeds a losing mentality and disrupts team cohesion, making it harder to shift to a winning mindset in subsequent seasons. Besides, high draft picks come with no guarantees of success.

Nothing tops building a winning culture. Create a competitive environment whilst you develop some hungry young guys competitive environment, and build a culture that is founded on sustainable growth.

The funniest thing about the obsession with tanking around these parts in recent years, is that this franchise has seen the perfect examples of what winning "pointless games" can do in the long run.

2012: started 2-8, then rattled off 5 wins in the last 6 to close out the year. Following season? 12-4, and a divisional round appearance.

2014: started 3-8-1, rattled off 4 wins to close the year, snuck into the playoffs for another divisional round appearance? Following season? Yeah, you get the picture.

There's no such thing as winning pointless games.

You know this tanking thing might have some merit.

Miami tanked, and now they are one of the, well they still suck.

Cleveland had more top five draft picks than just about all the teams in the NFL, and now they are, well they still suck.

Detroit did tank unintentionally for 15-20 years, and now it is finally paying off.

On second thought, tanking sucks.

Good draft picks, good coaching, good free agent moves lead to winning.  And building a winning culture is a big deal to and you don't build a winning culture by intentionally losing.  The Chiefs are the best team in the NFL, and they never tanked.  They had a winning culture, and then made one of the best trades in NFL history to move up a few spots to get Mahomes with the 10th pick in the draft.  Had they tanked, they might have drafted Mitch Trubisky.

This team has never had back to back winning seasons. We've never experienced sustained success or a winning culture in Carolina.

I generally agree that we need to build our culture up and tanking in general isn't a real applicable practice in the NFL.

At the same time people who are mocking others for being concerned about our draft position will absolutely be one of the first to gripe about teams ahead of us they don't like getting the best prospects. It's much easier to say you don't give a poo in November. Come draft night in April anyone that's spent enough time around here knows what's gonna happen.

There's always risk, but the bigger the pool, the better the chance.  This pool is small this April for franchise QBs and there's no need to force it like we did two years ago with Bryce.  Teams with legit QB aspirations are going to go tank mode soon, so don't assume we even get a chance at Ward. QB needy teams in the draft always find their way towards the top of the board.

Also, I think you are selling the 2024 QB class short.  There may be as many as four of these guys that pan out.  Odd you omitted Stroud as well.

Lost to Bryce. This motherfuger ain’t it. Left out Lawrence too. The motherfugers aren’t it.

Remember Tank for Bryce?  That was going on for almost 2 years.  How did that work out for us.

Fight to win games and improve the culture.

If we were to win games going down the stretch, it would give us fans some light at the end of the tunnel.

Wrong!

You don't improve the culture by beating losing teams.

Raiders/Saints/Giants are our 3 wins. All 3 are picking in the top 10 currently. How can you say we improving the culture when we beating teams just as bad as us.

When we start beating good teams that's when you say we are building winning habits.

Do you notice how the Nat'l media still views us as the worst team. It's because we haven't beat anybody worth a damn! Anybody who knows football knows this team still sucks. The moment we play a winning team we are getting blown out as if we don't belong on the same field. No that's not a winning culture. Winners actually win which we don't.

Stop spreading false news. This franchise isn't close to changing the culture. Don't let a few wins vs bad teams make you think otherwise.

Winning is how you build a winning culture. It is quite literally the only way to build a winning culture.

There is no way to spin winning games as a net negative this season. It's not a draft where you are likely to net an elite QB and the pool is limited with elite talent. If you end up with a top 10 pick(most likely we will) then just get an above average starter that is worth signing to a second contract. BPA and improve the roster.

You can do all that while winning games as a cellar dweller.
