That would be true if he is part of the grand scheme. What makes you think that because he's playing they think he is the future? Everyone sees what we see, including the team. The team knows that they need a long term answer and will try to improve it in the offseason.

You know why our team sucks and can't win games the last 5 years? Culture, or lack thereof. Winning breeds winning.

This idea to lose games means you have a team of players fine with losing, giving up on routes, quitting on plays. Sound familiar?

The team is trying to win games. You can tell the players are fighting out there. This is better than any draft pick for the long term.

Yes our #1 pick that we traded up for throwing 32 yards in a half doesn't matter

He's a sunk cost. Nothing we can do about it. Just more evidence there's no guarantees from having the #1 pick. We're going to need players around our next QB.

He really is not. 99% chance he's at best a back up. But we need players around whomever we do get as QB. If all we do is give up half way thru a season ever year in hopes of improving our draft position, we will more likely than not keep ending up with busts.

I don't care if people disagree this is just the truth. We are a bad franchise in desperate need of a franchise QB. I'm sick of every other bottom feeder finding their QB and we are stuck with the same outlook every season. We haven't had a franchise QB since Cam. It's time to find that guy.

We just had the # 1 pick in the draft two years ago. We really nailed that one didn't we (sarcasm intended). It doesn't matter where you pick in draft, it's WHO YOU PICK IN THE DRAFT.

We have a talent deficit at every position on the defense. I'm not going to be upset if we pick the best defensive player on the board in round one. In fact if we picked up a solid QB at starter via trade or FA for 2024, I wouldn't be upset if we went all defense in the 2025 draft. That way we could have a stacked deck when we if (preferably when) we do find our guy.

FYI. Here's a list of every QB taken #1 overall since 2000. Several of these guys had solid careers, but only two have actually won SB's (Manning & Stafford). And Eli was the only one to do it with the team that drafted him. Stafford had to join McVey and Aaron Donald in LA to get his ring. The tanking thing is asinine. A couple of years ago I remember people on the board advocating "tank for Tua", then "tank for Trevor". Good thing we didn't do that.

2023 Bryce Young (Alabama) Carolina Panthers
2021 Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) Jacksonville Jaguars
2020 Joe Burrow (LSU) Cincinnati Bengals
2019 Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) Arizona Cardinals
2018 Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) Cleveland Browns
2016 Jared Goff (California) St. Louis Rams
2015 Jameis Winston (Florida State) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2012 Andrew Luck (Stanford) Indianapolis Colts
2011 Cam Newton (Auburn) Carolina Panhers
2010 Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) St. Louis Rams
2009 Matthew Stafford (Georgia) Detroit Lions
2007 JaMarcus Russell (LSU) Oakland Raiders
2005 Alex Smith (Utah) San Francisco 49ers
2004 Eli Manning (Ole Miss) San Diego Chargers
2003 Carson Palmer (USC) Cincinnati Bengals
2002 David Carr (Fresno State) Houston Texans
2001 Michael Vick (Virginia Tech) Atlanta Falcons

Yeah I know, Canales is done with young and I dont see any realistic scenario where he is our starter week one next year.  All I am saying is that without a qb that can win games on this roster it really doesnt matter how well the other players are playing because you simply cannot win consistently without a qb in the nfl

There are over 50 players on this roster, many of them on the younger side. They may not that good right now, but they are still competitors. Telling them to not work as hard, that we don't want to win, to say that the organization cares more about getting the next best 7~10 players in the draft than themselves, congratulations. You're going to lose the entire team. You'll get the HC/GM fired.

Tanking only digs the hole deeper because it's a statement that the moment things seem to go wrong, well'll blow everything up and start over. This has to stop. Maybe not everyone we have right now are long-term answers but there's enough promise to say we could start building a new foundation, and that should include a winning culture. Let the organization handle the draft situation however it falls. To the players, it shouldn't matter.

There is risk at every pick. Safe ones bust all the time too. My point being, no QB in the last 4 drafts aside from Daniels has panned out as a sure fire hit. We can’t assume 26 and 27 QB will be any better. Cam Ward and Sanders elevate their teams and have a toolbox that Bryce doesn’t have. They have the confidence you want as well. If the staff is convicted on either they have to go with it. If not then fine. I don’t agree with forcing it, but I also don’t agree with assuming Patrick Mahomes Jr falls in our laps next year.

There's always risk, but the bigger the pool, the better the chance.  This pool is small this April for franchise QBs and there's no need to force it like we did two years ago with Bryce.  Teams with legit QB aspirations are going to go tank mode soon, so don't assume we even get a chance at Ward. QB needy teams in the draft always find their way towards the top of the board.

Also, I think you are selling the 2024 QB class short.  There may be as many as four of these guys that pan out.  Odd you omitted Stroud as well.
