He's regressing hard for sure. I always wondered how he'd handle the adversity that would definitely come at the next level. When he went running crying to momma it was like... oh man... that ain't the guy

Painting "fug Utah" on his nails and then refusing to address it with the media when they got punked told me everything I needed to know about his mentality.

He was very similar to Bryce in college in that he’d drop back and have all day to throw. Caleb is obviously a better athlete than Bryce but not some elite athlete by NFL standards. I assume the game will eventually slow down for him but who knows. Caleb is taking a crap load of sacks right now much like Bryce was. Sure some aren’t his fault but a lot are

So many of Stroud’s college snaps were him getting to the top of his drop and getting the ball out. A lot of the times he was throwing guys open. Imo that’s what’s going to translate the most to early success.

I remember the days when I thought 250  yards passing was an off day for Cam. Man, how we have fallen

Mahomes isn't even averaging 250 yards passing a game this season.  Passing offense is down dramatically this season across the NFL, for lots of reasons.  Defenses these days are entirely built around stopping the pass.

No it's not. They have a good pass rush but if their pass rush isn't getting home their coverage is trash. They're allowing the third highest passer rating in the league.

And Byrce could only throw a piddly 125 yards, smh.
Cam and Delhomme would have carved up that defense for lunch. Only Bryce can make a bad defense look decent.

Or they have a crap ton of injuries to receivers and are adjusting to that..maybe that has something to do with it

    • Was curious about this since I've seen a couple of Huddlers (not you) blame the 60+ sacks last season solely on Bryce. For anybody that would like to review all of the plays that Bryce Young has been sacked on this season, click here (NFL Pro, will need an NFL+ account iirc?). 1st sack: Took place in week 1 vs. NO in Q2 with 13:08 remaining in the half on 3rd & 10 from the CAR 41. Ball gets snapped, Saints blitz 7 and the CB comes off of the edge unblocked. Before somebody tries to say that Bryce should've thrown it to Mingo, Mingo didn't turn around for the ball until Bryce was already sacked as he was running a corner route. 2nd sack: Takes place with 1:45 left in the second half. 3rd & 6 from the CAR 19. Saints blitz five and the DB flies passed Robert Hunt to sack Bryce. That's two sacks and none of them could possibly placed on Bryce in good faith. 3rd sack: Comes @ 5:49 in Q3. 2nd & 3 from NO 3. Bryce has to scramble to the left as nobody is open to the right and there are defender in the backfield. Scrambles OB at the 3 but they credit it as a sack for Demario Davis who chased him out. Can't blame Bryce for this one as Diontae was casually strolling into his break when the defenders collapsed the right side. 4th sack: 12:14 left in the game, 3rd & 8 @ CAR 34. Saints CB Alontae Taylor notches his third sack of the game by running through a chip block from Miles Sanders. 5th sack: vs. Chargers, Q1 6:22, 3rd & 5 from CAR 33. LAC sends six and the DB immediately beats Chuba to flush Bryce out to his left just as JT Sanders starts to come across the middle of the field. Bryce has to roll to his left and sees Adam Thielen streaking down the middle of the field with the safety rolling left to help the CB with XL but gets sacked beforehand. Even though Chuba got beat to start, Bryce took a little too long recognizing and winding up. There is more than a fair argument to say that this sack is half on Bryce as he could have kept scrambling upfield to leave the team within field goal range or recognized Thielen coming up sooner, but it's difficult for me to put it all on him as Chuba getting beat to start set everything in motion. 6th sack: Totally on Bryce. Held the ball too long and didn't try to get it to a couple of guys that were NFL open. No question. Conclusion: Bryce was only responsible for 1.5 - 2 of the first 6 sacks this season. Primary culprit imo were failed blitz pick ups by the RBs (twice) and a new OL that didn't get as many preseason reps as they might have needed to gel.
    • I think we have some grit back. Burns was soft as hell and I think he was addition by subtraction in the long run.  Horn, not soft. A'Shawn, I don't see him as soft. Jewell looks serviceable, I suppose Wallace may turn out okay I have been critical but her was thrown in with the green dot job, and I haven't really zeroed in on him since Jewell came back. Just unexcited to rewatch things lately.
