aside from the chiefs, what other games do you see us winning this year?

Biggest factor is not so much the offense, per se, but whether our defense can keep up the big boost in performance from historically awful to spurts of competence. That said...

Chiefs: Bryce could have his career best day while the defense plays inspired and we still lose because they have the football gods (and the refs) on their side.

Bucs: Mike Evans should be back by this point. That's not good news for us, but division games are always a wild card. Really comes down to whether we can get Mayfield to have a performance like today against the 49ers. There's a chance but not a great one.

Eagles: Too much offensive power to counter.

Cowboys: Most winnable game. If today's performance is their baseline, might also be the only time we'll be favored to win.

Cardinals: This is an odd one. They're leading their division and seem to be playing better than expected. We did lose the last time we faced them, but we historically tend to have their number for some reason. One of those games where we could either lose as expected or mysteriously blow them out.

Bucs: I'll say it comes down to whether our unit as a whole keeps getting a little better with more games.

Falcons: I'll say no because even if we do get better over time, we can't win a shootout with them.

We could get 5-6 wins.  If the stars align.

Dallas, Arizona, and Tampa at home are possibilities.

Interesting thing though.  Our game against Tampa could be a battle for second place in the NFC South (showing how bad the division is this year).

So, with 1 upset over the Chiefs or Eagles, you have the 7-9 Panthers facing the 7-9 Falcons in week 18 for a division title game?

If Dalton, Thielen, and Brooks come back after the BYE, this garbage NFC South division is going to be somewhat entertaining.

    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
