Who wants Bryce to fail?

I see Caleb Williams playing like crap with much better weapons so not sure what stats Bryce should have throwing to rookies. I judge his progress mainly on his confidence in the pocket and going through progressions. Looks much improved, the stats will come when the rookies aren’t rookies anymore

I don't care what Caleb Williams is doing and am not really sure how that's relevant. As I said though his 'improvement' is a return to baseline IMO and not anything markedly different resulting in any different outcomes. If you want to celebrate that then OK, but folks that aren't impressed have an arguably even more valid position.

As I have said many, any times with Bryce and Canales both, time and consistency or lack thereof will tell the story. With respect to Bryce we have consistently seen him be poor vs even average.

I just can't take him seriously. Go from fiery Jake to the supreme confidence of Cam to that? Oye.

Absolutely not.

imagine this little guy trying to pump the team up before the game.

Canales said in the post game interview that he thought Bryce had a “great day” and was a few plays away from being an “exceptional day” and said he’s made a statement to the coaching staff. So basically said he’s starting again after the bye.

I think the fan theories that Canales is done with Bryce were fiction. Was more of the fact he was dealing with an obviously broken guy with crushed confidence, so he was handling it delicately.

Legit is 80 yards?

To be fair the passing game across the NFL is a lot different this season.  He passed for more than 80 yards as well.   Passing yards per game has dropped a huge amount on average this year almost league wide.  As I type this Caleb Williams is 13/26 for 104 yards and 0 tds with just a couple minutes left in the game.

I hope he does well for the team's sake, but he's never going to go down as one of the greats or a monster legend.

There's not a thing in him that screams "keep pounding". More like "keep slapping". He just doesn't inspire. he's not capable of it.

Him failing means Panthers fail, can’t have it both ways

I don't look at today and have any confidence that Bryce is the answer at QB.  He looked good for about a quarter then disappeared.  The game was always in reach for the giants, it's not like we took the foot off the pedal

Just raise your hand here so you don’t have to ruin every positive thread when Panthers win.

It’s one thing to be critical of Bryce when he deserves it but some of the hate on this board is just weird.  Stop trying to sugar coat it and admit you don’t want Bryce to do anything well because you have moved on forever and are looking to confirm your bias regarding his NFL future

I wanted him benched too but every time he steps on the field I want him to succeed and do well. He still has a long ways to go but I think he can be a Brock Purdy type of QB with the right pieces around him.  And yes Purdy was not the top QB selected in the draft but 49ers gave up a haul for Trey Lance. You take the hand you’re dealt and don’t think about the sunk cost.

 No one

it is just recognizing  what it us to be an average nfl game manager

average nfl game managers do not celebrate 125 yards in an nfl game

im sorry to say it

it is life in the nfl.

I noticed the same thing.  Passing yards across the board seemed to have dropped.  And points as well.  So far for this week, only three teams have surpassed the 30 point total, two of them in one game.

That's a good question. I haven't seen anyone saying they want him to fail. Some people might not believe he is ever going to be an average starter let alone a franchise quarterback but that is not rooting for him to fail is it? Is being happy that we are on a 2 game win streak and not losing badly for a change while also acknowledging we have played 2 of the worst teams in the league and Bryce Young has largely looked like a capable backup at best through both games rooting for him to fail?

I think we've reached a point in this discourse where disagreements have become fodder for labels of true or false fandom and that's just absurd. Anyone who is here and has been here through all this historic losing is a real fan. We just need to chill a little bit on the labeling of opinions that challenge positivity being labeled as hate. At the end of the day we're all adults here and when we are faced with inconvenient truths we don't like we can't just blanket label that negativity and hate. It's simply a reality that we have to face. If someone does not want that then they are free to create their own community where that is not allowed.

That’s a fair perspective to have, but I think we did take the foot off the pedal with some of the play calling, became too predictable

Caleb is a rookie, bryce is doing this 2 consecutive years in a row now. Like It's not even a theory,  throwing the ball consistently is a legit drawback for him.

    • Cam is the GOAT dual threat, but we've never been able to have back to back seasons with winning records despite the late season surge winning streaks, my favorite being the year we won the south in the 2nd half of the season. But winning 2 games late in the year against bad teams doesn't establish a "winning culture"  If they beat the Falcons bucs once, competitive against the chiefs and eagles i will have no problem with wins then because it's against legitimate competition but beating the giants and saints just to feel good, hard pass.
