Worth considering (Re: The Draft)

Theorized elsewhere that they could try to trade Jarrett for something. Wondered at the possibility of Jarrett plus a pick for Umenyiora, though I think that's a stretch.

So i guess we're only carrying 1 kicker and 2 QBs this year.. Wright will probably be activated over Edwards unless Edwards shows he can return kicks right away. I know on the phone conference, he said he had NEVER attempted it at any level.

I don't expect Edwards to get as high as third receiver on the chart, and the Panthers rarely go with 4 WR sets.

My guess is the majority of playing time he sees, at least for this season, will be in the return game.

Panthers site says LB, so at least for the moment, that's four picks made without taking a DL.

so we assume Brandon Lafell and Armanti Edwards beat out those two. That would mean the depth chart looks like

WR1 Steve Smith, Armanti Edwards

WR2 Dwayne Jarrett, Brandon Lafell

With a project like Armanti Edwards, it's also possible he gets put on the Practice Squad.

So the question is, do we draft another WR, or does Kenny Moore stay? I'm pretty sure we can't stash him or Charly Martin on the practice squad anymore since they played in games.

This is not gonna happen. Too many teams will want this guy on their 53 man roster. We put him there. He will be gone quicker than a plate of cookies in a Kindergarten class.

I do believe the coaches and the FO are content moving forward with the d-linemen we had. I had this feeling before the draft, and the way this draft is going, it is obvious that the starters are already on the team ~ regardless of how fans feel about it.

They did just draft a situational pass rusher/special teamer ~ so he definitely won't be starting.

But with that said, you have to remember who our defensive coordinator is.
